Mario Wiki

Go to Super Mario WikiSuper Mario Wiki

One of the best Mario information sites ever, it is THE wiki to use when you want information on anything to do with the Mario series. No joke, I found out a heck of a lot due to this site, including information about all kinds of obscure TV shows, cartoons, comics and books. As well as minor stuff about the game characters, levels and enemies I never knew. Seriously, this site pretty much was how I actually learn anything about what happened in the Super Mario Bros Super Show, Super Mario Bros 3 Show and Super Mario World Show. A must visit.

WaluigiousWaluigious

Waluigious is an intelligent, well ran site about Mario philosophy, or more precisely, intelligent debates and essays about the Mario series. As a keen reader, and someone who has written many of the DS Ultimate Blog entries in response to what they've said, I'd recommend any loyal Mario fans check it out immediately. Only warning I'll give though is that it's a tad harsh on certain games and characters.

go to Mario MonstersMario Monsters

Mario Monsters is a massive enemy and boss character archive for the Mario series. Yes, it has data about hundreds of enemies from Mario games ranging from Super Mario Bros 1 to Super Mario Galaxy, as well as for the spinoffs such as the Super Smash Bros, Yoshi's Island, Wario Land and Super Princess Peach games/series. If you want information on an enemy, and Mario Wiki isn't proving very helpful, or even just want to see some great fan art of said monsters, check out this site!

Go to Super Mario Party Super SiteSuper Mario Party Super Site

A great Mario Party fan site run by SuperZambezi, it contains information on all ten games in the main series, fan content and a pretty active internet forum you could join/post at. Definitely worth visiting.

Go to Nintendo Land

An awesome (and long running) Nintendo site with comprehensive sections on Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Metroid, this is one of those classic places to visit that has started updating again, and definitely deserves to be visited. Their forum looks good too (and is now vBulletin!)

Go to Mario StadiumSuper Mario Stadium

Super Mario Stadium is a (relatively) popular site that has plenty of Mario Kart related information that may be interesting to read.

Mario Monsters-

Great resource for learning about the various enemies in the Mario series as well as seeing some pretty neat fan art of them.

Lemmy's Land

Lemmy's Land

An extremely long going fan site about the Mario series from the viewpoint of the Koopalings, children of Bowser. Has plenty of interesting and unusual content, is only large Koopaling fan site around.

The Bowser Shrine

A site dedicated to Bowser. Which you don't see very often.

Wario Affiliates

Wario's Microgame Land

The only Warioware Touched fan site. And one of the only Wario fan sites in general that exists still.

Legend of Zelda Affiliates

Go to Exploding Deku NutExploding Deku Nut

Excellent Legend of Zelda humour site with satire and comics. Will lighten your mood when visited.

Go to Zelda OraclesZelda Oracles

Zelda Oracles is now an affiliate! Always a good site, if a little strange in how it's got that address for a such named site... Either way, check it out!

The Hylia

A very well respected Legend of Zelda site with plenty of content, active community etc. It's changed a lot over the years though, because I remember many different layouts and content styles in the past. Either way, visit it now!

Other Nintendo and Gaming

Game SpinGame Spin

A fantastic Nintendo and Gaming site, they're well known for their brilliant videos (including a full 242 star walkthrough of Super Mario Galaxy, which I've used videos from on DS Ultimate) and other unique features like podcasts and what not. They also have a nice forum.

CGC HomeChaos Gaming Community

A fantastic forum and site, under the name of the Chaos Gaming Community. It has a decent, active forum, and will eventually have a nice site with reviews and previews!

Go to GS CentralGS Central

GS Central is a brilliant site for Action Replay and Gameshark codes for all manner of Nintendo games. Yeah, it does have less than it once had, but that is only because of a few minor technical problems and needs your support to get hugely popular again. And if you need convincing that this site is an excellent resource, I personally get codes from there and have done so since the Gamecube era.

UK MidisUK MIDIs

A videogame music site run by a loyal member of the DS Ultimate forums.

Go to Wifi GanersWifi Gamers

Originally a Pokemon site called Poke-Sages, Wifi Gamers is a very neat wifi forum about Nintendo games. It's growing fast, is really well designed and has a nice staff team, so visit today!

Go to Nintendo DatabaseNintendo Database

An excellent resource for easter eggs and miscellaneous Nintendo information. A slow to start website that now has a loyal following.

Go to Super Smash Bros ArenaSuper Smash Bros Arena

One of the largest Super Smash Bros fan sites around.

Friend's Forums (Members from DS Ultimate)

Mojojo-joe-

The most professional and active Piczo site around, run by the cousin of the DS Ultimate administrator.

Note: The member called Mojo runs said site

Ninjablooper's Site

Ninjablooper's site. Doesn't have much at the moment, but it's quite a nice site overall regardless.

Also: Check out his E3 coverage article, he's a great writer!

Go to Nintenzone

Nintenzone

A good forum as managed by Matrix Pyro. It's a general Nintendo chat place, and I'm a member under the same name as always (cheat-master30).

Update: Changed URL to their new site URL, and I'm still a member with the same name. Great forum, and probably the only other Nintendo forum I visit other than DS Ultimate.

Not Affiliates but Great Sites!

Mario Sites

Super Mario Bros HQ

Either the best or second best Mario fan site in the world. A great resource, seemingly the most popular one and highly recommended. Seriously, visit it.

Go to Mario PartyDS.com!Mario Party DS.com

An excellent site dedicated to Mario Party DS, this has a good amount of screenshots, board maps, high scores and mini game ideas. It also seems to have a really active forum, so check it out today!

Mario Kart.net Banner

A long time site dedicated to the Mario kart series.

Go to Toad's CastleToad's Castle

A different kind of Mario fan site Which seems to have niche content in some aspects.

Super Mario MayhemSuper Mario Mayhem

Another great fan site about the Mario series with a lot of usual information, and quite a few pages of unique information that I personally hadn't seen before, such as sprites for various games.

Quality Guidelines

No hit-count or domain requirement. A good site could just as easily be hosted on Geocities for all I care, and a good site doesn't always mean an active site, as many of the best have actually quite few visitors because they are not the mainstream kind of website.

Your site must have over 5 pages unless I know you otherwise. In English, don't come to me with anything on Myspace, and your site must have some content to be accepted. This means good, decent sized chunks of relatively unique information though, not 1 sentence pages saying 'Coming soon'.

Layout must be useable. This means that average Joe must be able to use the site without thinking too much. In English, it's more difficult for sites using frames to fall under this, and sites done purely in Flash, Shockwave, Java or Javascript with no alternative way around the site or content for those without plugins/with Javascript off will be refused. I am a fan of Useit and Webpages That Suck though, so expect me to judge it against their quality guidelines for useability.

No GIMMICKS WHATSOEVER! Excuse the shouting, but I just want to say that I want no fancy pointless tricks or the like. This includes GIF Animations, pointless Flash usage, Splash or Doorway pages (unless you are already an ally), no java on non labelled pages, nothing flying around the cusor, no status bar text and no right click disabling. Oh, and just to let you know, FireFox, which I sometimes use can disable right click protection, replace status bar text, stop window re-sizing, etc. So it's useless anyway.

Finally, I don't care how much money you've spent, as it's YOUR site. I don't care whether you have free hosting or dedicated server, phpBB or vBulletin for forums, Paint or Photoshop. Do what you like, as it makes no difference.

Extra and Rather Important Notes

If you have a redirect that ends in .cjb.net, please tell me the real site address. I have a downright refusal to go near that cursed website again in my life, as I used to go there and end up having to run virus scans to get rid of spyware and adware.

If you hosted on CJB.net, please either give an alternatively hosted version of your site as the link or I will likely refuse affiliation or link exchanges.

Forums are not websites. Blogs are not real websites. Groups are not real websites. If you have any one of those as your site, do not even both asking as it is unfair to those who have actually tried to make a real website. Note that this means sole Invisionfree/Proboard/Ezboard forums equals instant affiliation rejection in a microsecond. I do not care unless you offer high traffic amounts, and most requests are instantly rejected.

I do not like tactics which are harsh on guests and force registration to view content. As the paragraph below this says, such sites will be rejected from affiliation. This also includes making the topics themselves private but not the forums, making the forums private but not the board index, login to view hosted sites, login/register to view content which you have no idea what it's about, usage of the limited guest viewing hack, lockdown hack (in public forums) or site's not online at the time said visit occurs.

If you force people to pay, be over 18, or register to view your site content, I refuse to be an affiliate and will simply delete your request. Thank you.

Affiliates can ask to use certain site content from DS Ultimate. That's a reward for being an affiliate. But if you aren't affiliated and want to use it, also ask.

How to Remove a Broken, Old or Offensive Link

If any listed site or forum has died, moved or changed content focus, you can PM me via the DS Ultimate forums (click forums in navigation menu) with the relevant information. If the site is dead, it'll be removed. If it's changed location, I'll redirect the link, if it's offensive or illegal content, it'll be removed, and if the content is changed, I'll update the name and/or description to show this.

Not Dead but Not Updating

The below sites have been moved here because updates have been non existant, but some part of the site is still alive.

Go to Super Mario LegacySuper Mario Legacy

Another Mario fan site.

Edit: Owner has officially stopped updating this website, but at last check, forums were still active enough.

Go to Absolute MarioMario Nostalgia

Edit: Lack of updates for about five months.

Ex Affiliates (Inactivity or Board Closure Killed them)

Gentendo

Gentendo is now dead, and his mentioned here as a pretty much memory.

Go to Mario Kart WorldMario Kart World

Another excellent Mario Kart fan site with plenty of content and potential.

Edit: Site seems dead, so link removed. Please contact me if you want this site readded.

Shining Nova Clan

An awesome but somewhat underappreciated clan which needs more support and members to reach the status of the Blue Diamond Clan and Infinite Blue Clan. Covers all wifi games.

Edit: Not quite dead, but link nofollowed for removing DS Ultimate affiliate link from homepage.

Gamers Lounge

Kyle's excellent forum (and soon to be website) about gaming. Plus, he used an interesting forum script based on Gamefaqs which was rewritten from the ground up, so it's worth checking out for that alone.

Edit: Site has been removed by host, likely due to inactivity, so link has been removed.

MarioWings' Nintendo Forums

Another Nintendo forum, this time owned by mariowings77 from the DS Ultimate forums. It's a relatively nice place, has the same general members as DSU does and it needs your support to become popular!

Edit: Site seems dead, so link removed.

Pills' Nintendo Discussion

Another excellent (certainly fast growing compared to Gentendo, Gamerzone and 1337 games) forum, this time managed by DSU member Pills. It's a nice place, looks a nice forum and needs all the help it can get!

Edit: Site seems to have died, moved and new site died, so link has been removed.
