The Super Mario 64 Article
Let's start out with glitches. This game is known for its glitches. There are sooo many of them! Here are some of the best glitches around!
Through the Ceiling: 1,2,and 3
Theses are simple, yet very fun glitches. They go like this-
1-Go into the winding staircase (The one that will take you upstairs where Wet-Dry World and all those courses are at) As soon as you enter you will be very close to completing this glitch. Go to the left. Double Jump. Done. This glitch is used in most speed runs to save a few seconds.
2 & 3- Now that you have completed the easy one, there are two harder ones. Go under the lobby (Down by the enterance to the basement) and jump around near the sides. There is really no sure-fire way to do this.
When you suceed you should be under where the coins in the lobby are. (You can do this on both sides) If you are using a emulator you can attempt a Backwards Long Jump (Will be explained soon) If you are using a console,I would say "Impossible".
The Bob-Omb Glitches
These are pretty easy glitches. They are really cool, you can do things like hold a goomba using these sweet glitches!
Go to Bob-Omb Battlefield. Okay, you there? Yes? Good. Now go to the bob-omb nearest to the chain chomp. Pick it up. No throw it and try to grab it right when it lands. If you get this right you will be holding a very
large bob-omb. Now go to the side of where the cahin chomp is (The white part) walk up on it. when you slide back down you should be holding a invisible object. Now,walk around and you can turn that thing you're holding into tons of cool things. Here is a list.
Goomba: Walk around near the goombas and go near trees.
Bubble: Stand near a water bomb when it blows up.
Chain Chomp's Chain: Walk through chain chomp's chain.
Coin: Jump onto the moving platforms.
There are alot more out there just waiting for you to discover! NOTE: When you are holding one,try throwing it. Cool.
Backwards Long Jumping
The glitch that beat the game with zero stars.
This is one of the hardest glitches around, there are thousands of them. You don't know what a Backwards Long Jump (or BLJ) is? Well, let me tell you!
First of all,do a long jump. Now keep holding Z and pressing A while holding back on the Joy Stick. You should be doing a backwards long jump. Now,expirament a bit,get used to it......Okay,used to it? Good. Let's start on the glitches.
First,we are going to do a easy one. Go to the top of the castle (assuming you have 120 stars) and go to the front. Now,do your backwards long jump, hold back...and...BAM! You shoot out of your area really fast!
Now,near that area where you just did that, expirament. You will find tons of cool variations.
Now,it is time for some more anvanced BLJ's.
Bob-Omb Battlefield Out of Bounds: Where the moving platforms are start a BLJ. If timed right you will boost out of bounds.
Get in the Little Aquarium in the Jolly Rodger Bay Room: Go to the left middle of the little aquarium. Start a BLJ and just keep doing that BLJ. If you do it right, you will boost into the little aquarium.
There are tons more,if want want more info search "Super Mario 64 BLJ's" on YouTube.
If you want more info on glitches,YouTube is a excellent resource.
Now,let's start on cheats.
Have you ever wanted to get down Princess Peaches Secret Slide in 12-15 seconds? What about beating Koopa the Quick in 14-20 seconds? Well, your reading the right article!
Princess Peach's Slide in 14-15 seconds
You may be thinking "Wow! That is impossible!" Well, guess again! Here is how!
Simple as this. When you are still near the top, bump into the wall so you are going down the side backwads. Then, when you are just getting out of the tunnel, turn so you hit the side of the slide. Now jump off and try to land on the bottom down by the end. (Doing a gorund pound right before you land helps) This may take some parctice, but when you get good at it you will be gettin' 14-15 seconds every time!
Princess Peach's Secret slide 12-13 seconds
Up near the top, when you first get on the slide try to turn around using the edge that is on the right side. This saves a few seconds if done right. Then, when you are just getting out of the tunnel, turn so you hit the side of the slide. Now jump off and try to land on the bottom down by the end. (Doing a gorund pound right before you land helps) This may take some parctice, but when you get good at it you will be gettin' 14-15 seconds every time!
Koopa the Quick 14-20 seconds
Simple. At the start, long jump to where the cannon balls are coming down. Now triple jump up that. Go over to where the balls are roling back and forth (to your left) and wall jump up the small wall jump-able area.
Now,you can use any tactic to finish it up. I recommend using the warp, sideways jumping to the top,and long jumping to the pole. As you get better with this you will improve your time.
Time for rumors!
There is one rumor, and only one rumor is this game, and that is.... Luigi being in the game! Now, this rumor all started when people thought that the next on the infamous star pedestal said "L is Real 2401". In my opinion, it says "Eternal Star". The rumors suggest things such as "Run around the star pedestal 64 times clockwise" and "Beat the first two stars in under two minutes, then *Put something very stupid here*" But they are just to ignorant to believe that he isn't in the game! Hackers have proved it! There may be some very real looking pictues and stuff, but trust me, it was all just Photoshopped.
That's the end of the rumors!
Now, for those beginners that just can't seem to beat the game... A %100 complete high-quality guide of Super Mario 64!
GOGLE IT!
Anything else you might just HAVE to know can be found on Google and YouTube. Now, if you don't know what those are, you shouldn't be gaming in the first place.
