Cooking Mama Review
Let's cook up this review!
Graphics: 5/5 (The colors are vibrant and enjoyable)
Sound: 4/5 (The music isn't catchy, but it is enjoyable to listen to)
Playability: 4/5 (a few minigames have problems, but not overall)
Entertainment: 5/5 (honestly, this didn't tire me out, even after 15 hours with it)
5+4+4+5=18 18/2 = 9 (out of 10)

At first, I thought "Why buy a cart with only minigames? How lame is that? No story, no plotline? C'mon!" Then there was Cooking Mama. I now see why people call these kind of games fun.
Obviously, the concept is to create virtual food on your DS. It might not sound fun at first until you start playing the timed minigames. You have to touch the knife to cut food, like cucumbers, onions, tomato, squid, and octopus legs. The game allows you to cook on a pan, occasional flip the food item and set the temperature. My most favorite, however, was cutting the squid. If you get the game, you will see why.
Some of the minigames are hard to pull off, though. Cutting the tendon out of steaks, which requires you to memorize where to cut the item to remove the tendon. It is a bit imprecise. Plus, some are incredibly boring, like setting the time to cook a food. (Although it's funny to fail at doing that). However, this game did wet my appetite after I made a food.
One thing that was sad was that sometimes it instructs you to blow on the stew when you are making stew. I thought it used the mic, but in a quiet room I found that you don't have to do anything to blow it. That's too bad; it could have been added. But then again, it would have been imprecise and lower the score on this game.
If you like food, or just like playing fun collections of minigames, look no further. Cooking Mama has you covered.
