Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass Review
Phantom Hourglass is essentially a sequel to the GameCube Zelda adventure The Wind Waker.
The game is definity from the Zelda series, various dungeons, mind bending puzzles, challenging boss battles, and of course, the all around fun of uncovering a new item.
The whole game is controled by thr touch screen, swipes and spins using the stylus control the sword and the control concept is simiar to Animal Crossing Wild World. The game takes off where Wind Waker left off,Link sails the seas with his pirate companions. The crew is on the hunt for a ghost ship, one that supposedly contains great treasure.
Of course the ship appeears out of nowhere and Tetra runs off to search it.A shrill scream signals that something has gone worng, and the ghost ship dissapears into a large cloud of fog.
Link runs and jumps after it but ends up in the ocean, the ocean eventually carries him to the shore of a island. After waking up on the island, you're welcomed by a fairy who takes you to a elderly man who tells you about the ghost ship. After talking to him you learn the basics of the game.
The would be boring if all you did was run around and slash the enemies so Nintendo put in things such as blowing and talking into the speaker and of course the wide variety of items found through out the game. These items will help out in the many puzzles located through out the game.
The game is not as complex as some of the other Zelda-based games although it is still fun and entertaining. The game would probably be one of the toughest in the series if it wasn't for the fact that you can record important infomation such as where you have been and what your mission is.
Sailing was very time consuming and boring in Wind Waker but in this game it is more fun and not as time consuming.
All in all it is a wonderful and challenging adventure. You should be able to beat the game in 14-16 hours, but I would probably waste time on finding treasure chests and exploring. There is also a multiplayer game where one player controls Link and the other controls several phantoms by drawing lines for them to follow, not the best multiplayer game in my opinion but it is okay.It is a pretty good game and is worth the money.
