The History of Kyledude92107- DS Ultimate

Yeah, I realized yesterday I never really told anyone about how I came up on the internet, what various site I've went to, and stuff like that... I just really didn't want to open up about it, but I decided I would, so here I am. I also didn't have much in the way of videogames to talk about since it's been a slow week. So here's my story.

I first ventured onto messages boards when I was 10-- Roughly 5 years ago. It was on a forum literally called TGZ. No one actually knew what TGZ stood for. Some speculated The Game Zone, some speculated that it stood for something else. But no one actually knew. It was a small site at the beginning, and I was the 60th or so member to join. we had our interesting members. We had our members who typed in paragraphs, including myself. But we also had our trolls. When the first batch of moderators were chosen roughly 4 months after opening, some of the people were upset about who was selected to be a mod. This led to our first big fight, in which many members, even a few good ones, rebelled against the site and spread a bad word about it wherever they went. I stood aside, meanwhile, and I was one of the few members doing nothing as the Staff owned these trouble makers. Unfortunately for the people causing trouble, their tactic of spreading the word about our site in a negative fashion backfired on them, and TGZ became a bit more popular. Shortly thereafter, the site exploded. We reached 500 members about 7 months after the launch, and we were growing by the minute. We upgraded from phpBB to a very early version of from what I remember was VBulliten, possibly a look-alike. However, with the growth came more trolls, which led to the next batch of moderators, in which I was chosen. It was interesting at first; mind you, I was simply an 11 year old who acted mature for his age (I still like to think I am. >_>). People thought I was older, but in all reality, I wasn't. So I was stuck being a pre-teen moderator on a site which expected me to act like I was 18. Luckily for me, this wasn't too hard.

Things progressed for a while. Around a year and 7 months went by before we had any further problems. By then, the site was over 2 years old, I was 13, and the site had over 1,000 members and around 75,000 posts. We were talking about games, but more importantly, having fun doing it, and the site was growing by the minute. However, a rouge moderator decided he had had enough of the site, and proceeded to ban over 200 members while I watched helplessly along with another mod before the admin got online and banned the idiot. This brought up a problem; moderators couldn't ban other moderators if they started any trouble. Shortly thereafter, I was selected as the first, and what would be the only, lead moderator on TGZ. All of the members were unbanned and emailed, and almost all of them came back. I had fun for another 5 months. I was havng fun moderating, we had over 1,3000 members, and we were a bit over 145,000 posts. The main site was getting more popular because of the reviews, and we were growing. By then, I was 13 and a half. It was roughly two years ago. We came back one day, however, to find that our accounts had been hacked, the admin's account had been hacked, the forum had posts with porn, shock images, spam and other crap on it... The database was hacked, and the usernames were changed. An hour after I found it like that, the site was terminated by the host and taken offline. I have never heard back from the admin, or anyone else from that site. TGZ was dead, and it was time to move on.

Enter GameFAQs. I was looking for another gaming site to go to, and in a Google search, I found GameFAQs. I initially had signed up when I was 12 (shut up), and started posting on the first board I was interested in about two years ago. The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney boards. I posted around there for a while, getting hammered for small spelling mistakes, which I believe helped make me the grammar-nazi I am today, and posted around a bit, becoming a respected regular, and having a little fun. Eventually, however, I got tired of the direction the board was headed, so I went to the Super Mario 64 DS board. This is where I met Cheat, Mike O'Shay, Swordless Link, yodelerty, peteyboo, Blu, Super Slash, TUK, sleepmode, Alex and countless other people. I posted around a lot ther,e became a regular there, and if I'm not mistaken, a respected one, and that board became my home board, so to speak. Shortly after coming there, I saw Cheat's signature, which lead me to sign up here. I was 14 when I signed up, and I never returned after registering. The site was just too slow for me, and I had enough on my plate to begin with.

After a while though, I ended up getting in a fight with sleepmode, and a rivalry of sorts developed. One that I have just recently patched up in the past two weeks. The secrets topic eventually got locked, more trolls came, and the board got dull. Cheat left, SL left, peteyboo left, blu came with pikmin and left, Alex came, and left and yodelerty left. A few have recently returned, but the board seems broken beyond repair. I stopped posting as frequently, and I still don't post there that much. While all of this was going on, though, I was introduced to board hunting, the secret boards, Pepsi, and what I didn't know was Hardcore at the time. This has kept me occupied, and I am still looking for that last board, along with everyone else.

I then started making my own sites. My first, Gamerzone was where I met Gen and it lasted for quite a while. It died with 1,300 posts even, though, after Blu decided he wanted to destroy it... My next site, 1337Games, lasted for a shorter amount of time, but I got introduced to all sorts of new people, and it ended up with slightly over 1,700 posts. It was considered dead, and I kind of just left it alone, as did everyone else. However, I came back one day to see the someone had spammed it, which led to iot being closed. I then started the site I'm working on now; one which will have a main site, and which isn't hosted for free by some automatic forum host. It's still under construction, and will likely be that was for a little while longer.

However, in my email, I noticed Cheat and TUK were being pretty persistent about wanting me to return, so I came here. The rest is history, as the saying goes, and this has became my homepage. I still post on GFAQs, lurk TNR to make sure there's no invasions planned and to talk to blu, and go to my site a bit, but this is where I can be found now. I'm having fun here, and I plan to be here for the life of the site.

And that's about the entire story of how I became who I am today. I hope you actually read it, and I hope you enjoyed reading it. This is the first time I've shared this, and I felt it would be fitting for me to post it here.
