An excerp from a recent forum topic:

To unlock Waluigi, you first have to get all 150 stars and every mini game. Then, you have to do the next step: You know how in the N64 version of Super Mario 64 DS there is a plaque in Boo Courtyard that says "L is Real 2401?" Well, consider the L upside down because the next step is to make add up the coin records for each level. If the total is less than 2401, you'll have to increase the total until it reaches 2401. If it goes over 2401, you'll have to start the whole game over if you want Waluigi. If it's exactly 2401, you'll be able to get Waluigi by following the next few steps. The next step is to go lose your caps. Mario has to lose his cap by being mugged by Klepto in Shifting Sand Land. Luigi has to lose his cap by being mugged by Ukiki on Tall Tall Mountain. Wario has to lose his cap by being blown by ths snowman in Snowman's Land. Once everyone is capless, go to Boo Courtyard as yoshi. You'll then see that the star on the fountain is gone and that it was replaced with a ? block. Hit it to get a Waluigi cap. Then, put it on and go to the mirror room where you unlocked Wario. You'll see that the power flowers are still there. Take one and you'll gain the ability to see secrets in the castle. Now, go to the door to the lobby. Instead of going through it, triple jump over it and you'll end up ripping a curtain that hides a hole. Go through the hall that the curtain hid and then you'll end up outside in front of the cannon. Launch yourself from the cannon and aim at the giant picture of peach. When you hit it, you'll be on a ledge. Then, a message will appear saying that you need 151 stars to go through the secret door. Get another Power Flower and head to Boo Courtyard You'll see that the star on the shrine is a real star. Get it, take another power flower, and go back to the cannon. Launch yourself at the "picture" of Peach and it will open. At the end of the hallway, there is a picture of Waluigi. Go through it to enter the Pirhana Pit. You'll need to take damage when you first enter because you need every character to complete this level. If you make it to the end, you'll fight a really REALY big Pirhana Plant. Beat it to get a key with an upside down L. Then you need toSave, end the game and when you come back on go into the room with the luigi Mario and wario doors on it and the white room door will be waluigi's( if you have not got the white room star then get it befor you unlock him)

Below is where I bit by bit analysed his fake instructions and ripped them to pieces:

To unlock Waluigi, you first have to get all 150 stars and every mini game.

What for? Why have a character who has no role in the game other than to be there? What missions would you use him on? At least my ideas gave each character and outfit/switch a logical reason for existing.

You know how in the N64 version of Super Mario 64 DS there is a plaque in Boo Courtyard that says "L is Real 2401?" Well, consider the L upside down because the next step is to make add up the coin records for each level.

Copied from the old Luigi rumours. It was also in the original, and still has no purpose, deal with it. And why that exact coin number? It's not exactly a rounded number, or the full total...

If it goes over 2401, you'll have to start the whole game over if you want Waluigi.

Missable stuff has NEVER been in any 3D Mario platform game. And even the RPGs keep the missable stuff to a bare minimum, and games like the kart games have alternate ways to unlock EVERYTHING.

You'll see that the power flowers are still there. Take one and you'll gain the ability to see secrets in the castle.

What the freaking hell? Why would a power flower be used for a one time ability with exactly one purpose that's never used in levels/anywhere else?

Now, go to the door to the lobby. Instead of going through it, triple jump over it and you'll end up ripping a curtain that hides a hole.

This makes no geographical sense. If you did this in either the Mirror room, second floor staircase, or basement staircase you'd end up either in the second floor general room or the foyer...

Go through the hall that the curtain hid and then you'll end up outside in front of the cannon.

This makes only a little more sense, in that you're going in the right direction to the cannon, but would probably end up in the moat...

Launch yourself from the cannon and aim at the giant picture of peach. When you hit it, you'll be on a ledge. Then, a message will appear saying that you need 151 stars to go through the secret door.

Proved to have no entrance warp behind the glass, but it's a good idea I used in my Mario 64 DS ideas topic for a level entrance. Couldn't work as a secret room entrance though, since it leads to the foyer...

Launch yourself at the "picture" of Peach and it will open. At the end of the hallway, there is a picture of Waluigi.

Explain how this 'hallway' + painting fits into a three foot thick stain glass window and isn't visible at all from the foyer...

Go through it to enter the Pirhana Pit. You'll need to take damage when you first enter because you need every character to complete this level.

So this level somehow exists without any red coins or secret star, for one sole purpose and is pretty much pointless?

If you make it to the end, you'll fight a really REALY big Pirhana Plant. Beat it to get a key with an upside down L.

That's a real innovative boss design. Heck, you're saying Nintendo have like, 20 Piranha Plant antagonists and picked a generic giant one with no name? Oh, and if this was true, how the hell are we meant to beat it without any instructions? Or get through the level?

Then you need to Save, end the game

Why? In Mario 64, changes are instant...

Waluigi's speicial move:
power flower: he can run at a astonishing speed and cover long distanses in a matter of seconds(great for racing koopa quick)
Natural ability: He can Jump Mega high

Like the speed, but it has no purpose, and Nintendo would never give an ability with no purpose... As for the super high jump... real original Luigi clone you have there...

Ataking move: this is why you want waluigi, his ataking move is when you pres A he spins round and puts his arm in the air making lightning come down and it kill every thing around him for about one meater in front of him (to scale)

Oh, real balanced attack move... I mean, I thought my shell types in my ideas topic were a bit overpowered, but a full blown supernova type attack on the surroundings? That's just a broken move which allows instant death to anything with no real reason, and would unbalance the game.

Yeah, so a random game breaker character attack? Oh, and then I complain about the the spelling and grammar:

P.S. Whoever REALLY came up with this junk, please use a spell checker. And a grammar checker.

To finish off though, these rumours don't explain a ton of things. How did these characters arrive at the castle? Why? Why don't you hear about them until the very end? What purpose in the game would Waluigi serve?
