Yes, the stuff at the end would kill you... So when he hit the switch, it turned the first half of the bridge solid. The thing is, though, he'd walk through the coins at the second half, and die if he didn't time it perfectly. So he had to time it so when he was steeping onto the second half of the bride, the P-switch's effects would end so that there would be blocks there.

Insanely mean, to be honest.
