Interesting point. Anyone here wish to be a volunteer tester to see if a glitch or oddity occurs after this happens?

There is no such thing. It would have been in the cheats section in gamefaqs by now.

I still want to know. Besides, is anyone awful enough for that to happen? It was my first ever Metroid game for example, and nothing close to that ever occurred.

I have no idea if anything happens. That's why we needed a tester. Besides, I hate idiots from Youtube that steal other people's findings.

I only had ONE octolith stolen from me and that was because it was my first time playing. Stupid Slyux using Shock Coil, so I spammed Battlehammer and stole it back.

I can try. Holidays nearing, it'll give me something to do.

Please tell the results when you finish, okay?

Will do, and a rival hunter has 2 of my 8 Octoliths currently too! Sylux, to be precise. Should've picked a better hunter though, with all thers energy tanks, and Sylux isn't good as an AI controlled hunter...

Got any further with this strange mission?
NintenDan
6th June 2007, 10:23 AM
Awww Yeah! I did it. And, sadly, nothing happens. But, I will experiment some more, like gaining all 8 back, opening Oubilette, losing the 8 things, then returning to fight Gorea. I'll tell what happens then. Oh, and Super Mario Kart - Battle Mode theme music is so catchy!!

Thanks for researching. I'll be keen to see what happens when you try and lose them after opening the Oubliette.
Dragon Knight
6th June 2007, 01:48 PM
I think you lose the artifacts already once you open the path to Gorea, so you'd have nothing to lose.

That's what I thought, just never actually knew what would happen if you died afterwards.

Whoops, realised that too! Also, here's a fun fact, if you defeat a guy who has 8 octoliths, you get all eight just by beating him once! And so on and so on...

Now that is a neat trick!

Makes it much easier. Also, I realised that the little Lore things yuou scan that are above the doors when you enter a new area, or the start of a planet/station, Alimbic Prophecy or something, they have the secret order in which you have to shoot those things on the walls in the battle with Gorea! Like, "A strike of YELLOW LIGHTNING shall strike upon earth"... clearly the Volt Driver weapon first, then Battlehammer in the next prophecy, and so on

Really? That's pretty neat. What do they all say?

I can't really remeber but it goes like this I think:
Yellow Thunder blasts Greenwood. Greenwood leaves Orange stuff, orange stuff leaves trail of Blue Smoke, which leaves a Red Trail, which explodes into Purple Stuff.
I forgot the Purple and Orange...

9th June 2007, 03:19 PM
Yellow- Volt Driver
Green- Battlehammer
Orange- Magmaul
Blue- Shock Coil
Red- Imperialist
Purple- Judicator

9th June 2007, 03:21 PM
I think they're in the wrong order. But they correspond to the weapons alright!
cheat-master30
9th June 2007, 03:26 PM
Actually, it does match. And now makes sense:
Yellow Lightning- Volt Driver
Greenwood- Battlehammer
Orange Blaze- Magmaul
Blue Smoke- Shock Coil
Violet Crystal- Judicator
Red Stain- Imperialist
Ancient Alimbic power be manifest- The Omega Cannon will be available to finish off Gorea.

Alright! We cracked the code! Also, out of randomness, I caught an Ocean Sunfish in AC:WW! It was a HUGE fish in the ocean, and when I caught it, it was bigger than me! It was a rare fish too, so I donated it to the museum! I also caught a few bugs today as well, and donated them to the museum also!

That's awesome! And yay, cracked code! To add or not to add?

If you want, just for fun. It would certainly help people in accessing Gorea 2! Also, the meaning for Oubilette is "Small, enclosed dungeon". I never knew that until know, did you?
cheat-master30
11th June 2007, 12:24 PM
No, and that is interesting, seeing as the dungeon doesn't seem to be that small.
Dragon Knight
11th June 2007, 01:49 PM
Oubilette probably just mainly means prison or something to that effect. I remember seeing the guide for Final Fantasy XII calling a place an Oubilette
cheat-master30
11th June 2007, 05:07 PM
Wouldn't be very surprising if it meant prison or something.
NintenDan
12th June 2007, 10:21 AM
Well, it means prison. Which is a good name, and it sounds Space-themed too! Also, I just watched some movie called Zathura. It's space themed, and I thought It was good. Which is weird, as I rarely find most movies to be good.

Whatever, even though we tested and know the answers to the topic.
NintenDan
14th June 2007, 11:08 AM
Nothing at all. Except when you press start, all the Octolith places are replaced with Hunter Pictures. As in, if Kanden has an Octolith, then his icon will appear instead of an Octolith.

14th June 2007, 11:15 AM
That sounds pretty cool. Never think I knew that.
