A Preview of the Haunted Castle

To test out my new Youtube account, I decided to take a quick video of one of the easier sections in the Haunted Castle, which is the World 2 castle for the main DSU SMW hack. While this is mostly for test purposes, you're free to comment on this tidbit. It's also to my understanding that cheat is putting together a map of the rest of the level, which he will be able to finish once I create the last section of the level.

WOW. That looks awesome Zexis, although that music got on my nerves quite a bit (don't change it, I just far prefer the castle music). Nice work, although you could have used a tad more save states and saved a whole load of time in some parts of the video.

Thanks everyone. I tried not to use a tremendous amount of tool assistance, but after seeing how long it took to upload, I might be a bit more liberal with the save states in the future. I'm also considering making vids of other parts of the level, though probably not as a whole. That drain section...*shudders*. I've tested it once, and I know it's possible. That's good enough for me.

I'd say maybe the first two main rooms. The one with the Fishin' Boo and the roof.

I could certainly do that. Though there is this one jump...well, nevermind, you'll see soon enough. In the meantime, I'm just waiting for the IPS tutorial vid to finish uploading.

Yup. It requires a very small spin jump and precise timing. I tried it out this morning and about went crazy over it.

I don't think that the level is THAT bad. But certainly tough. Also, I finished making a video of the first rooms (that goes all the way to the drain section.) Hopefully it'll finish uploading in less than three hours, because I'm leaving to go somewhere at around six. If not, I'll post it tomorrow instead.

^It's super maschoistic compared to most hacks though (anything found on Super Mario World Central to date). But you're right, Syrup Castle and the Underwater Castle are probably more difficult.
