Essentially the old version of Blue Burst was closed and is now being run privately. The instructions on that site show you how to connect almost any current system that has the game to it. The majority of the ways is through hacking, but the PC version is totally legit, and all you need to do is register a username and password (along with an email to verify) and download the software and you're ready to go.
Me and Kyle are currently playing the heck out of it, which would explain our lack of activity here.
General notes to this include:
- This game bundles Phantasy Star Online 1, 2, and 4 for online personal use. This is an international game, so be ready to see many different languages cross your path, especially Japanese players. (this was originally a Japanese-only online game)
- When you first log on is you login straight to the lounge area. You must create or join parties at the central service counter to enter the gameplay itself, you can also make the party private or public by putting or omitting a password to the play.
- To engage in text messages press the spacebar, then type your message. To change control schemes, you must do it in-game, either in the lounge or in the play itself, but not before.
- You can make teams; They are mainly exactly like guilds, you and others are on it and you get bonuses as a group for doing specific missions or things together.
- I and Kyle are always free to answer any questions about the game if you get stuck.
