Zexis, this board was your idea, huh? Figures.

President Obama has recently passed his 100th day in office. He has been battered with many social issues, including the recent torture memos, his "postponed" education refoms, the recent H1N1 virus (swine flu) and most of all, the economic "depression". I am, needlessly said, allowing intelligent disscussion and debate here about your opnions of his current performing state. As Zexis said, no flame wars. And be sure to elaborate on your opinons. Is he doing lousy? Great? Let everyone know what you think.

No, it was my idea. >_>

And I think he's been handling things well so far.

For one, he's been doing everything that he can to keep our economy from falling deeper into a hole that we can't climb out of. He's been keeping tabs on the swine flu and taken preventive measures to keep it from getting worse.

I also approve of his Gitmo actions.

...Well, sorry for not giving out correct credit, but Zexis was talking about it in his "Sexting" topic, so natrually, I thought it was his. Sorry. Obama is doing a good job with keeping the economy on life support and not letting it just die. That's a good thing.

How much power do you think Obama has over the economy?

If you ask me, I think people are making too big a deal out of it.
I get it, he's broken the historical barrier, but I really haven't seen much change since his inauguration. Maybe that's just me, but that's what I have (or haven't >_>) been noticing...

He certianly does not have all power over it, (unlike those communist dictators >_>) but he certainly is a deciding factor. We the People have a great influence, because we are the workforce, the businessmen.

Really? Haven't heard an opinion like that. So you think things are just status quo, or as usual? But you can't think that he is not bringing any change at all, can you? Not trying to pressure you, but elaborate on why you think this, please.

All the news I'm hearing about Obama is really minor things that almost anyone can do without a million cameras behind them. I just haven't heard anything about his major, long term goals as of late.

Yeah, I'm right behind you yoshi... Normally I don't like talking about politics because of flaming... But I seriously don't really see what he's done! Honestly, I have no idea of what is going to be happening to this country in the next few years. But he's been promising alot of "Change," But I haven't really seen any significant change from him yet >___>
What's happened to most of his "promises" that he's been talking about during his campaign? I certainly don't see any of those happening! Just whatever happens, I hope that we don't go into another Great Depression of sorts >.>

Those are campaign promises. Sometimes, you can't actually believe that stuff.

Yeah, I know. But It would be better to have a president that would actually follow through with some of his promises as opposed to lying to the entire country to get elected >_>

Mariowings77, you know that if you have seen campaigns like these before, then the candidate always makes "campaign promises" that may or may not be fulfilled. These promises "market" the campaign and get people to vote for him, because they like his education plan that even the candidate himself knows will not come to be, due to the more important issues at hand.

How much power do you think Obama has over the economy?

Exactly. Obama hasn't directly done everything bad that has happened since he went in office, but he hasn't done everything good since then, too.

I'm going to wait for the end of his presidency before judging him. But for now: http://crossvilleforums.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ThumbsDown.gif

Guess Obama needs to do something based on what you are saying, huh? Well, hopefully he can make some "change" happen. Gosh, you guys at DSU are some good debators...

Has anyone else seen Obama's comical dinner adress?
(Lemme rephrase: Has anyone else NOT seen Obama's comical dinner adress?)
I think that he won't do any of the (serious) things he said.
Why?
Look at all the other posts...
