Paper Mario 64 is now available for download on the Australian VC, and I assume European as well.

It's still fantastic!

Congratulations. And did you know their first appearance was actually in a japanese comic of the game not the actual game, as with many Mario bosses in that game?

No, and Goomboss from M64DS is actually called King Goomba in this. And he is actually a regular Goomba made into a King by the Star Rod.

I know. But people on some boards still don't believe me and the Wikis.

Oh, and did you know that each Paper Mario after 1 had the partners from the games before in the game? Thousand Year Door had sprites of the first games partners in the game memory, and Bow you could meet by Poshley Heights. Parakerry delivered Mario's mail at the beginning and on a certain e-mail you can see Jr Troopa in the background.

In the next game (Super Paper Mario) you could get cards of partners from Paper Mario 1 and 2.

Wow, this is interesting. This is why I love the Paper Mario series.

I never experienced the original, so I can not comment.

Paper Mario 64 is the BEST 64 game. Bar none!

A guy I was talking to said it is the best of all the PM games. I haven't played the second two, so I can't comment.

Paper Mario 2 is awesome, and many agree that. Super Paper Mario is a great game as well from what I heard, but there are split opinions over game quality depending on if you expected an RPG, platformer or mix of both.

The Mario and Luigi series is kind of seen as good, but dependant on the person. The second game in that series is often seen as worse for no real reason.

IMO, PiT didn't feel like SSS, which I couldn't put down. SSS was a fantastic, and one of the best GBA games.

I liked both of the games a LOT. The difference was really that one was exploration based and calmer while the other was more linear and story based than the other.

PiT just seemed to be missing what made SSS a Mario game.

I'm not so sure about that... I certainly loved how it used the Yoshi's Island theme from the original Yoshi's Island game for that certain area for one... and Kamek returning. And Pidgits or whatever on flying carpets.
