What is really awesome about the level is the "Lost City" found by activating the cannon and shooting Mario into a cage. The place had trees and incredibly simple houses, which adds to its mysterious self. Something I noticed and found weird was that one of the doors of the houses is recycled from Ocarina of Time.
I found it on the Mario 64 DS board, posted by someone and asking what was meant by the 'Lost City'. I wonder this because it is WRONG, as The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was released AFTER Super Mario 64, and if anything it would be the other way around with the doors.
Just a trivial error someone made...

I think they mean Downtown in Super Mario 64 DS.

It's hilarious how most people at many boards (cough Gamefaqs) especially those like Flint just have not realised the error in that statement.

Yes, it is. They should have got it, anyone should have.
Also, it shouldn't matter that they're not big LoZ fans, 'cause I got it and I'm really not a huge fan.

Yeah, Ocarina of Time was released like SEVEN YEARS after Super Mario 64. Right near the Nintendo 64 was kind of dying while Super Mario 64 was a launch game...

Maybe it was used originally in SM64 and recycled in Zelda? Look for yourself to disprove it first. Although proberly coming from gamefaqs, it's most likely not true...

It's not that part which is false, in fact, your statement is the correct one. The error is that they are saying they recycled something from Ocarina of Time in Mario 64 when it has to be the other way around because Ocarina of Time was released 7 years or so later!

It's because Zelda and Super Mario 64 were developed together and i guess nintendo didn't feel like creating another texture so they resused that's my thoery
