View Full Version : Complaining about scores for video games you've never played...

This is one of those things about people online that bugs me so greatly... why the heck are they criticising a reviewer's opinion about a game that both isn't out yet and they've never actually played? They can't honestly be thinking that hearing some marketing hype and seeing a few screenshots makes them some great judge of quality despite never actually experiencing the game...

Your opinion?

Part of me says an idea for a site would be 'The Video Game Review Site that Reviews Games Purely on Online Forum Hype!' Now with '100% Predictable Reviews!' That's basically what half the gamers seem to be expecting...

You can get an impression of a game from vids and make your own judgement (I do all the time to decide if a game is worth buying or not), but you do need to play it before you can make a real decision.

I have when people praise a game they never played.

It doesn't matter if they're bashing or praising a game they've never played, it's the whole 'we think we know better than the person who's actually experienced the game' rather than the waiting for when they have the experience necessary to give an informed view.

Kinda like this, except it's about reviews.

Good ol' Super Paper Mario. Really shutdown a lotta nerds with that one.

I love that part in Super Paper Mario, oh so many nerd references, and they're all so chillingly representative of the standard internet forum user.

That message is really in the game? It's not just some funny photoshopping? I was playing that game at my friends house a few weeks ago, what level do those messages start appearing?
