Marth, Sidgurd, and Ike
Marth: Marth is the main character of both Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryu to Hikari no Tsurugi (The Dragon of Darkness and the Sword of Light), the first game in the series, and Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo (Mystery of the Emblem), the third game in the series, as well as Super Smash Bros. Melee. He is the first of two characters to star in two games in the series, is the third-most popular main character in the series, and is the icon of Fire Emblem. To include any Fire Emblem characters without Marth is akin to including Zelda characters without Link. Anyone who states that Marth would get axed for other Fire Emblem characters is either ignorant or a moron.
Sigurd: Sigurd is the first of two main characters of Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu (Genealogy of the Holy War), the fourth game in the series. Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu is also the most popular game in the series, and as such, deserves representation. Furthermore, Sigurd is the most popular character in the series. There is also a rumor that Sakurai himself is a Sigurd fan, and that Sigurd was originally planned for Super Smash Bros. Melee but removed for Roy at the last minute. Also, Sigurd is capable of using two weapon types--swords and lances--which is something few other Lords can claim.
Ike: Ike is already comfirmed
Now for other common suggestions, and why they don't work:
Roy: Roy is the main character of Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi (Sword of Seals), the sixth game in the series, and was in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Despite his incumbency, his chances of returning are less than his chances of leaving. Why? Roy is extremely unpopular. He had virtually no personality, was weak, and came from a game that took a huge step backwards in the gameplay formula and was thus unpopular. Furthermore, due to his fighting style being extremely similar to Marth's, it would be hard to declone him, and according to rumor, no clones will be in this game. I highly doubt Fire Emblem will get more than three representatives, but if they do, then Roy is one of two people most likely to take the fourth spot.
Lyn: Lyn is one of three main characters of Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (Blazing Sword), the seventh game in the series, known as just plain Fire Emblem outside of Japan. However, Lyn's chances are low, due to being very unpopular, and not being as unique as her fanboys claim she is. Her only redeeming points are that she's female and that she's the first main character that the world outside Japan has seen in a Fire Emblem game (Marth and Roy don't count since non-Japanese first saw them in Super Smash Bros. Melee, not in their native games).
Hector: Hector is one of three main characters of Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken. While he is popular outside Japan, he's very unpopular in Japan. Both Lyn and Eliwood surpass him in popularity there. Now, since Japan has gotten the entire series, that means that they have more leverage as to which Fire Emblem characters get in, which means no Hector. His only saving grace is that he wields an axe.
Ephraim: Ephraim is one of two main characters of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, the eighth game in the series. His chances are low because of lack of popularity (unpopular in Japan, mediocre popularity outside Japan), and the fact that his game is unpopular both in and outside Japan. His only saving grace is that he wields a lance.
Black Knight: The Black Knight is a major villain in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Akatsuki no Megami, and is considered to be Ike's rival. While popular, he suffers from the fact that he's a villain, and therefore has lower chances than most of the (popular) main characters.
Micaiah: Micaiah is one of two main characters of Fire Emblem: Akatsuki no Megami. Despite this, she'd have a hard time getting in, because of the other main character of her game: Ike. I can't see Sakurai allowing in more than one Lord per continent, and Ike plays top fiddle in the continent of Tellius. Some people will claim Micaiah is the more prominent Lord, pointing to the fact that she's on the game case's cover and the fact that we use her first as evidence, but that doesn't make her more prominent. If that were true, then Lyn would be the most prominent Lord of Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken and Eirika would be the more prominent Lord of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, and as anyone who has played both games will tell you, that is not the case. Furthermore, Ike has one more leg up on her: He was in another game, and she was not. The only way Micaiah will get in is if there are four slots, and even then, she has to compete with Roy. Her saving graces are that she's female and that she uses light magic.
*insert name of a non-Lord, non-villain here*: Sorry, but they're too generic. They won't get in before any Lord or villain.
