When you mean editor, do you kind of mean a level editor? And no, I have not played Lemmings, but I heard it is like a puzzle game.

You can make your own levels and upload them online for other people can play them. I made 22 levels. It said in the reviews that it`s hard to design a decent level. But it`s not hard for me. Most people levels look like a mess.

Really? What do they look like?

People will put tiles and terrains all over the place. This is why I don`t really like to download their levels. I will loose interest and take a look around at their levels. I think people rush to make them. I take my time putting every terrains carefully.

Personally, I think that is like anything. Most people cannot really design levels (I think I can though, like my Mario Kart DS tracks) and you most likely can, but most will just throw in everything. Same with stuff like websites and forums, all the newbie invisionfree boards with hundreds of codes and stuff throw everywhere just because it is possible to do so.

Sometimes their terrains are not connected and the Lemmings will fall without noticing that there is a small hole there. The Lemmings can fit through any small holes.

Yeah, that must be annoying.

You have to guide to Lemmings to the exit by using the eight abilities. The Climber, Floater, Bomber, Blocker, Builder, Basher, Digger and Miner. Climber makes them climb up walls. The Floater will give them a umbrella so they can survive tall heights. The bomb can break terrains but it also blows Lemmings up. Blockers will turn Lemmings around, Builders can make stairs, and Bashers can make tunnels horizontally. Diggers is same as Bashers but Vertical and Miners can make a hill by digging the ground.

Oh, okay. Thanks for that information.

I hate when people underestimate this game just because the begining stages are easy. They don`t know it will get very hard later.

Probably in the same way Mario vs Donkey Kong does. That's an easy puzzle game to start, but very difficult by even world 6!

that sounds complacated.. I'm sure its not thou.

most games are like that thou. but I though the first stage(s) were hard....

Blockers will stay Blockers unless you break the ground under them. The Lemmings are really mindless creatures with no sence of danger. It say that in the manual. Blockers can also turn a Builder around.

Yeah, as that is what a lemming is supposed to be!

BY the way, you ever going to write a guide for this?

This game has 156 levels. That will take too long. You can go to google and type Lemmings Solution. There`s a guide there for the 120 levels.

Oh, okay. Kind of why I am worried about one day writing guides for Mario and Luigi Partners in Time and Metroid Prime Hunters, because of the length (writing about RPGs must be the worst, same with these long puzzle games). I guess no one has done a full 156 level guide then? Only wondering if somehow it could make this place better.

The one for SNES only had 120 levels. Those stages retures in the PSP/PS2. and with 36 new stages.

I don't suppose anyone can help me, but here goes:

I'm having a mysterious problem getting online with my copy of PS2 Lemmings. I've got a network profile, I've got a login handle and a password, and my connection is working fine. But for some reason, when I login, a blank screen comes up. I don't mean that the screen goes completely blank, I mean that those little windows that pop up in Lemmings (like the ones all the options menus appear in) appears, but there's nothing in it. It's just blank. If I press X to continue, it goes back to the login screen. The only other option is to disconnect, and I don't want to. I want to upload my levels and download some new ones!

What's going on? Is it a problem at my end? Has the PS2/PSP Lemmings community been shutdown or something? God, I hope not...

Hmm... Interesting. How long does it have to be...?

Luis

About six letters or more.

weirdybeardy
29th October 2007, 05:09 PM
My password is already eight letters long. I don't get it... ? Oh well. All I can do is keep trying.

I'm looking forward to seeing what variety of levels are available. I appreciate what you said about most of them out there being a bit rushed and poor quality. When I was designing my levels, I wanted to make sure they looked like levels that other people would want to play. I spent a lot of time making sure all the components were aligned properly, etc. and I spent a long time play-testing and making sure they worked okay, especially some of the difficult levels. Boo:}

Can you show me a picture about the windows thing that goes blank? Don't forget that I rebuild these stage. http://lemmings-solution.vaarties.nl/lemmings2/classic.html It's true that most levels that are online don't look like real levels.

I'll post a screenshot as soon as I can.

In the meantime, tell me some more about the levels you've created. Are they all copies of existing levels? Which of your levels are you the most proud of?

Luis

My levels packs are called World 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 is offline right now. The pack with the levels that I rebuilded is called Lemmings 2. I felt pround that I brought these classic stages to the PSP. Although, I don`t think your going to like World 1. Those are the levels that I used to put any titles in theme. I post this using a PSP so I`ll explain my stages in details tomorrow.

i dont think i will be purchasing anymore psp games due to the sheer crappiness of the psp and how mine broke in 4 different buttons under minimal playing. soy just doesnt know how to make a system for people that want to play for more than 2 minutes a day. {*tisktisk*}

Luis
