... people thought the Wii was the underdog console, and would not amount to much and were talking about the Xbox 360 and PS3 as going to be great? Well isn't it ironic that this once console underdog has killed those consoles in sales success, and now I see more recommendations and adverts for the Wii then any of those consoles. Like bloggers talking about the Wii, magazines talking about it and all the like.

If you wondering why I am not talking about the DS, it was expected to win generally. Because Nintendo have never lost to another games company in the handheld market.

That's true. But sometimes I wish the Wii wasn't as big a success, (Yeah, sounds like I'm a traitor, but I have a good point...)
...wait for it...
...wait for it...
...
...I wish the Wii wasn't as big a success so I could at least buy one! With discounts so it sold quicker! But, I'd rather the fact that Nintendo has finally returned to the top, which was their wish when the Wii was in development.

I actually saw an advertisement for the Wii in my mom's Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

Unexpected. I have also seen such adverts on channels about horse racing. Ironically.

Yeah, but then again, that's popularity for you. Demand beats supply.

Even then, people still bash the Wii for the following reasons:
-It only has mini games
-After the big 3, there's nothing left to look forward to
-Why pay for VC games when **** are better and free
-gimmicky remote will wear off on people (in terms of novelty)
-no HD

Does not only have mini games, heard of many Wii games which are actually full blown adventure, shooting, racing etc types? Like Super Paper Mario and Twilight Princess?
There's plenty to look forward to, which we have not heard about yet.
Why pay for Virtual Console games when whatever? For one, why not ask the same question about Super Mario Advance games and Classic NES series games and collection sets such as Sonic Mega Collection? Also, nothing beats playing games on a console (although **** do have a benefit in being able to hack custom levels and stuff with devices like Toad's Tool and Lunarmagic)
The remote is not a gimmick. It's a control scheme.
No HD. Who needs HD with the current games? Besides, what makes the PS3 suck and unpopular? Because it ships with a form of HD which costs hundreds of pounds and raised the price.

Oh yeah and people whine how the Wii has nothing but lots of cube and PS2 ports

Even if that was true, it's not the Wii's fault, just that of the lazy developers being lazy.

my favorite line from the wii haters is how we are either total fanboys that kiss nintendo's ass or that we have been brainwashed by them and accept their lack of good online play.
really? then i should go and say how microsoft and sony brainwashed them into buying Blu Ray format or that ONLY online multiplayer makes a game great or how HD is the only way to go.

Good point. Besides, only fanboys accuse others of being them.
