The Action Replay for DS, as you should have known is a game enhancement or cheating device for the DS console which has pre built in cheats for various games as well as allowing you to be able to enter your own AR codes from websites online.

The most common games this is used on are Super Mario 64 DS, for things like the moon jump, test levels and debug research, Mario Kart DS for offline tracks online, beta levels and various cheats for wifi mode and New Super Mario Bros.

It is NOT the same as the AR Duo, which only has saves for DS games and codes for GBA games.

What are your comments on this device?

Note: DS Ultimate encourages its use for research purposes but not for cheating against others purposes (but who cares about the computer, they don't think!)

Now, my personal opinion on this is as follows. I think it is a perfectly cool and brilliant device for testing out the beta levels, secret characters and items and all the like, and for debug research purposes. However, I think that only no skilled cowards actually use it to cheat against others, and that's it's better purpose is to 'cheat' against the computer, which being mindless drones, no one cares about.

Note that while I am a happy Datel/Action Replay customer, usage of enhancement devices on DS is at your own risk, and I will not take responsibility.

I own an AR but I only ever use it for the moon jump on offline MPH, and to mess around on other games. When i buy M64DS again i'm going to be messing around.

That's what I use the older ARs for, an what I will use the DS version for. Obviously this is because there is nothing wrong with using debug/beta area codes on your own, or messing around when playing on your own, or against computer opponents, just it's not right using codes that have negative effects on other people's enjoyment when in multiplayer or online.

Exploring and having fun is what it is meant for. Not ruining other people's fun times...Except the computer's fun times... The AR device should NOT BE used in any way as what cheatmaster-30 has said in the above posts.

I'm getting a SuperCard DS ONE which has a built in Action Replay AND can enable/disable cheats WHILE PLAYING. Actually I'm just waiting for it to come in the mail.

My Max Media Dock, which I had NitroHax (free ARDS homebrew clone) on broke, so I have no AR at the moment.

I like to use AR to do some really fun and interesting things. Sometimes to make it a little easier, but usually just for fun. I would never use it to cheat on a multiplayer game. I don't enjoy ruining other people's fun.

Cool with the cheats built in? That's awesome!

Wow...That supercard thing seems awesome! I would have got one if I didn't already have a normal ar.

Well it has 100% ROM support and auto-patching of them. It also has a real-time game guide. It's GUI is moonshell based meaning it can directly play audio/video files, no need to get extra homebrew software. I just have to wait until it comes... Sadly we don't get mail on weekends so hopefully it will come in the mail on Monday.
