The Mad Piano

The Mad Piano is that killer piano with teeth that is seen in one of the rooms in Big Boo's Haunt. It lunges at any character that goes near it, terrifies many people and has appeared on my most hated enemy list at number 2, being my second most hated enemy.

I don't think theres anything scarey in mario games... as for whats "scareist" idk... because I never found myself being even alittle afraid of anything in mario games..

True that. Just like the mini boss music in Metroid Prime Hunters, or how in any Mario or Legend of Zelda game, if something is too quiet, something will most likely happen. Same with many games now, beware the silence!

umm..... I don't think so.... thou there are games out there that are prolly alittle screy but not so scarey I'd be scared just like something jumps out of no where would make you jump in some games.... but after I jumped i'd be fine again not left scared...

When I was a little kid, the Mad Piano always scared me. As for now, I know I said it's scary, but it only startles me.(I still won't go near it though)

Neither will I. In fact, I actually asked someone, for both the DS and Nintendo 64 versions to get me that one red coin behind it every time!

What happens if it gets you? Do you get one-hit-ko'd or lose substantial amount of health? And was it in SM64 DS? I can't remember...?

Lose a huge chunk of health. Something that would make you lose all your health at once as an enemy would probably be the lava spitting monsters from Yoshi's Island, Boss Bass, the giant Cheep Cheep in the Mario 64 game or this lava wall:

I remeber when I was playing Super Mario 64 on my Wii ($10 on the VC). So I went to Big Boo's Haunt, then I went into this room. I remeber seeing a piano, and I was like, "I know this can't be good." So I got closer, and all of a sudden the piano started growing teeth and coming towards me! I got out of there.

Very true of me as well. I am also a bit creeped out by the Luigi's Mansion black out by the way.

Luigi's Mansion is the scariest Mario game in my opinion, as ghosts and night don't mix too well for me!

Getting surrounded by a ton of Boos, seeing some Bowser robot, a ghost rise from the grave and being in a haunted mansion during a black out can't be a good thing.

I was bored, so I went to the Piano. I looked at it, and it has a tiny circle for a shadow! Lazy Nintendo!!

the piano is more of a quiet attacker........the chain chomp obviosuly reveals itself as an attacker cheat im not kidding when i was little i was scared of that level not the level but that piano then i got mario 64 ds and thought (bah i know what it does now i shouldent be scared and nope lol it still scraes the **** out of me.)

I said that nothing in Mario is scary. That piano didn't even phase me when I first played SM64. To me, it's a stealth enemy without the element of stealth (which defeats whole purpose of existence).

The piano, while no longer scary anymore, was one a terrifying experience (over doing it, perhaps?) in my younger years. Sometimes I would "prepare" to make a mad dash for the red coin. Luckily I found out that if you just run, you can dart behind him and get out safetly.

At this very moment, I can't really think of a scarier being, or once was scarier being, in a Mario game. If I remember this thread at a later date I may be able to think of something a little scarier than the ivory-toothed beast.

the piano makes you losee three health.oh, and i think you could kill the piano if you use the mushroom effect in the area.

^ There are no Mega Mushrooms in the area. So you would need an ARDS for that.

Also, I tried using Wario's metal flower power against the Piano. The room next to the piano room has a ? block, so that's how I got Wario's metal armor on. When I ran into the Piano neither Wario nor the piano was hurt. Because metal armor did not work against the piano I think the mega mushroom would not work either. Just a theory.

Well, just like they say in pokemon: It wasn't very effective.

Yeah, the Mega Mushroom has no effect on the Piano (except you not getting hurt). Oddly enough, there are creatures found nowhere near a Mega Mushroom that die if they get hit by the effects of one, but this isn't one of them.
