I discussed this before. Anyone can be anything online, and it may or may not be true. This is what I said before:
Basically, I have noticed that many people seem to assume that when they see someone online with NOA or something similar in their name, that they are some faker, or they are not a real Nintendo of America employee, but why? Anyone can be anyone online! Online identities often have nothing in common with who someone is offline, and anyone can be anyone online.
Yes, there are those who fake they are someone of a different authority, or whatever, but there are also genuine celebrities, genuine staff and such online. And all these have the same problems facing them as anyone else does, and there is nothing to say someone famous or with authority cannot act like anyone else. For example, there could be famous people or even employees of the companies that disconnect on people, that use Action Replay to gain advantages, or that go to random message boards talking or arguing about videogames. For all we know, the owner of Nintendo themselves could go this very forum under a random username, or so could anyone normal or famous offline, and no one, unless the person told would be none the wiser. It's not a rule such people must identify themselves as such, and for that matter, let's look at some examples of when authority figures used alternate accounts:
Runescape- According to Mojo here, Jagex mods use alternate accounts when playing the game normally, probably because of only being allowed to use their moderator account for actual moderating duties.
Gamefaqs- Anyone can have any number of alts (some have over 1000 accounts), and moderators can even have alternate accounts, not recognisable as mods to carry out their duties (see this: http://wikifaqs.net/index.php?title=Secret_Moderator)
