Looks to be a great game. It comes out Dec 6, which is my Birthday. But, I'll be getting Galaxy, or Brawl (if available) and some Wii Points. So I'll have t get it a but later, but your thoughts on the game.

It'll be like the other Mario Party's, unlike the Gameboy Advance version, which I have heard was nothing like the originals, and that this made the originals feel like solid gems. Sure the Mario Party series has it's repetitiveness, but I still enjoy a good board game every now and then. And the though of it being portable will probably make it more playable, so I can play it in the car, out and about, wherever, instead of only at home or at another place... And, I hear there's a chance of Wi-Fi... the board games would be preset to avoid arguements, so if it's twenty turns, that's about an hour, so it could take a while, but Mini-game tournaments would be fun to play against others!

Well, should stop rambling, but that's my thoughts on what this game could be...

*Goes off to make Generic a quick birthday present so that I don't forget...*

By the way, what a weird avatar you have...

It's from SMG. ^_^

And the Wi-Fi minigames would be awesome. I can't wait! I haven't play a MP since 4. =D

Wifi would be good, but it would need more than that to overall be a great game.

Wi-Fi board games would be a bit long, though... Well, I'd like some good characters to be in it, not random ones like Hammer Bro and Blooper. Why not something like, say, Shy Guy? Or Fly Guy even! And then Kirby as a bonus for Generic!

Kirby? What about Fox if your trying to add non Mario characters. Then it could have starfox minigames. What the game will be like if it had smash bros charcters and minigames?

Because Fox in a Mario game sounds really weird? Then again, so does any other Nintendo character in a Mario game...

Heck, let's shove in cheat-master30! He's all the rage with kiddies today!

Well, according to Mario Wiki, this game has an interesting story (not saying much though, probably won't be played out well). Kamek supposedly drops invitations to a party at the castle on behalf of Bowser who shrinks the heroes to a tiny size and leaves them in the middle of a weird sub urban area:

Oh, and notice the normal area, and the fact Toad is small? Know what that means? Toad is obviously playable, and it's possible that ordinary people live in the Mushroom Kingdom (and somehow have piranha plants in gardens).

I heard about the shrinking, but not that part... I don't know what's going on, they may change the story later on, or do something, because that story doesn't sound right... But it would be different! I saw a trailer, and it looked like a garden with Piranha plants in and stuff. I just don't want to see a kitchen and a lounge room and all that stupid boring stuff, I wanna see Mario boards!

Oh, and to add to the story, they go out to get stars to regain normal size again!

Same. Mario Party is supposed to be about Mario... or the series at least. I hated how some games had appalling generic board maps rather than ones set in Mario areas such as the Mushroom Kingdom. Those could have been in any party game!

What DON'T stars seem to be capable of doing? Rescuing Peach/restoring the castle, whatever is needed in Galaxy, finding treasure/making cakes/stopping wars/making rainbows/making a ship move/defeating Bowser, stopping many of Bowser's plots, saving the world of dreams, parties, powering down the star rod, sealing away a demon...

Good ol' stars... without them, Nintendo would have no story at all!

Nintendan... did you know that your worst fears for this game are confirmed, and that the stages are dull and miniature real world type based?

NintenDan

Oh well, that is okay... just so long as they're not REAL corny... If they keep the traditional gameplay I like best, it's fine by me! Actually, I might make a topic about the Mario Party series somewhere...

Mario Party on my DS actually doesnt sound that bad. The sites are obviously going to give it, like all Mario Party games, a mediocre score, but I will most likely buy it. Any news on Wi-Fi compatability yet... even if they're just rumors?

Don't think it's wifi compatible.

Ok, me neither. WiFi just wouldn't work with a game like this.

NintenDan

On Wikipedia, it's been confirmed to have no Wi-Fi whatsoever.

Usually Wiki is right, but every now and then...
