Wario's Woods I think the game is. Oh, and the original Gameboy was released around the same period as the NES.

Why Nintendo is always trying to confuse us? Wario first appeared in Super Mario Land 2. What`s he doing on the NES?

Wario's Woods was released on the SNES (which was released in 1990), in 1994, and was then, later the same year released on the NES (and probably one of the last NES games ever released, as the NES was at the time, already 11 years old (1983)... Super Mario Land 2, was released 2 years earlier in 1992... so, Nintendo isn't confusing us at all.

Well to put it more simply, you said the NES was released around the same time as the Game Boy, however the NES was released in 1983, but the Game Boy wasn't released until 1989. The console you were probably referring to was the SNES, which was released in 1990.
Wario's Woods was a game released in June 1994 for the SNES, and then re-released in December 1994 for the NES (why they done that is like re-releasing Mario Kart Double Dash for the N64 <_<) ... Super Mario Land 2, though, was released for the Game Boy in 1992.
