So far it's generally been a great game, but I do have some especially good things, bad things and possible improvements they could have made:
The Good:
The levels are generally designed brilliantly. No joke, these level designs feel extremely fun to play and not boring at all. Even the bonus levels are as big as full Mario 64 courses.
A bit more variety in bosses, and a heck of a lot more. Nice touch, especially some you don't hear about online (water cannon boss for example).
Plenty of worlds. About double than in Mario 64, nearly 3 times as many as in Sunshine I'd say.
Controls feel spot on, and the alternate forms are very fun. However, this also brings to a negative point...
The Bad:
Power up items are far too underused. Like in every 3D game, it seems the power up items are just too rare. We only had a few fire flowers, about two levels with the Boo Suit and a few with Spring Mario. None except the Bee one and the mushroom are relatively common.
Too many water levels (and fire ones). Two fire levels (excluding Bowser's bases) and like 7 water worlds. More variety please.
A bit TOO easy. I got past the first run through in like 1.5 to 2 days. Needs more difficulty, as at present, not one 3D game has had any real difficulty in it.
Bowser's second level is harder than the last one. Just like in Mario 64 I guess, where Bowser in the Fire Sea was harder than in the Sky.
The Improvements I wish were there
Maybe play as Wario for a third play through.
Items appear more in the levels. Red Star actually should appear in levels.
Please, make the observatory more interesting as a hub area. It feels too empty...
Level designer for mini game levels.
4 player manta ray racing, Bubble Blast and Ball Rolling modes.
Overall, it's been great so far!
