UGH! Damn Purple Copins. I've got the hard ones for last.

Dreadnaught
Toy Time
Freezeflame
Dusty Dune (Well, this one isn't even hard, it's just that I've yet to get around to re-doing it. >_>)

In my opinion, These are all the hardest, because... well, they just are. Toy Time is a plain old mother effer, Dreadnaught... I've got bad luck here. Dusty Dune... I should've beaten alrezdy, but I've dies TWICE while at 95, so I'm pretty pissed about that. As for Freezeflame and Sea Slide... I find these ti be a pain in the ass because their spread out amongst the mainlaind; no certain order to get them in. I've only tried Sea Slide once, got about 40 and then died, but Freezeflame... THREE DAMN TIMES I've gotten to 70, but twice I died, and the other time I plain old didn't know where to look. Blech.

I got Luigi last night. Toy Time was pretty hard until I just went berserk. I just ran and hopped everywhere, and finally did it after the 100th time.lol

I agree, Purple Coin Stars are really hard, expecially when they are timed.


BTW, it's not that big of a deal, but to play as luigi, you have to beat the final boss for the second time after you get all 120 stars. I don't know why though. It's not like you get another star... It's easy, however. It doesn't change at all.

XD Heh. I AGAIN died on Dusty Dune with my 95. -.- I was pretty pissed. I screamed "BLOODY HELL" followed by "MOTHER ****ER".

Okay, you are in a whole world of smashed Wii remotes once this is done. Because Toy Time purple coins and Dreadnought Purple coins are seen as two of the most difficult stars in the game, and like me; they are two of your LAST to collect. Just stock up a LOT of lives.

FINALLY done!

Dreadnaught was the first one I got. Not too difficult until the end, but the duck helps immensely.

Sea Side was next. Only my second time doing it, it took about 10 minutes, and I only missed 3 coins, which I found quickly (they were on top of the castle).

Next was Dusty Dune. I died a total 10 times here before I finally got it. But, I did, and it is actually one of the easier ones looking back at it.

Then, Toy Time. THIS WASN'T DIFFICULT. Reasoning: my brother was the co-star, and he held the dissapearing panels in place when I needed them to be. Yes, I cheated, but I was happy to finish it.

Finally, Freezeflame. Easily the hardest Purple Coin mission as far as free-roamers go (ones where you aren't timed). This sends you two split ways, both in which the damn Shomps (Thwomp-like creatures that go in and out of the wall; the name is my own, and I actually jokingly call them "Grandpa Joe") are killers. I had 98 coins. I long jumped off the peak, MISSED the little mountin, spun in the star, and was so discouraged that I had to re-do it, I eventually died. I FINALLY beat it, though, clamy hands and all.

The "extra ending" was stupid, and totally not worth the effort. Luigi, however, is. I've yet to do anything in the Luigi file save for the opening, but I plan to put the effort in to get 121.
