Basically, what was the first ever videogame that you ever played in your life, that encouraged you to keep playing them and (hopefully) becoming really good at them?

Mine was Super Mario Land, and I had Super Mario Land 2 as well. Just remembering the difficulty and how different it was to the modern era games makes me think back, about when I first beat each boss in this game and it's sequel. It also encouraged me to buy Wario Land Super Mario Land 3 and collect games from the Wario series.

What was your first?

Hmm... my first videogame that I can remember I had was way back in about... 1996. I got..... a GAMEBOY which also had Super Mario Land, and Super Mario Land 2 with it. And... heh... well I haven't got the GameBoy anymore, but I do still have those games (although they're not exactly the same cartridges) now.

They were some good games then, and Super Mario Land 2 was super awesome. I still prefer Wario Land from back then, even though it was probably the most difficult game on the Gameboy in the Mario series and had a more difficult first boss than either Bowser in New Super Mario Bros or Bowser in Yoshi's Island DS.

Good choice, and it obviously helped you get into Mario games a lot. Not surprising as it is one of the best Mario games of all time.

Super Mario World open the path to start my journey on games. I have three of them. The SNES one, Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World and for GBA.

I still think Super Mario 64 was one of the coolest Mario games though.

I think it was Mario All Stars, and then I got a Gamrboy with Super Mario Land 2!

Was Mario All Stars that game with Super Mario Bros 1-3 with updated graphics as well as the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2?

Luis

Yes, and just thinking about it makes me remember all the good times with it.

Sadly, that likely won't come to the Wii virtual console, because of how much Nintendo would lose out.

Luis

Nintendo will lose out on what?

cheat-master30
25th February 2007, 03:59 PM
The cost of getting Super Mario Bros 1, 2 (both Japanese and US) and Super Mario Bros 3 for the price of one Virtual Console game.

Now there`s is a reason why I should not give up my SNES. I don`t want to download the games that I alreay have.

All I may ever use the Virtual console for is to get the games I forgot to get.

Luis

I will get the ones that I never played before.

I played the one on the NES the one on the GC and the one on the GBA and beat them all :)

I never beat that game. Simply because I don't like how it supposedly starts the second quest and starts you from the beginning when you beat the game.

the second quest is more fun thou!

Luis

I beat the first and second quest.

Heh, I knew there was a Mario Kart game in your first three games, but Tony Hawks Pro Skater? That's a different game to start with.

Sonic the Hedgehog for Mega Drive. Still one of my favourite retro games to date.

I never really was into the Sonic games, maybe because I was more of a Mario fan at the time.

I didn't have a SNES. So I never knew the joy of Mario.

I know it from how I played the re-made versions on GBA and Super Mario Land, which seems very similar to what the NES and SNES games are supposed to be like.

That has happened to me... *sniff*...

It happened to many people playing New Super Mario Bros.
