Another Petition: Serious Chat

A board uner 'General Discussion' where someone can post about serious stuff such as religion, science, politics, race, and all other major topics.

Okay. My response here is that it depends. Anything which could lead to racism or sexism is not going to be implemented, and politics/religion are known to be a minefield to discuss. However, those two MAY be allowed if this ever goes ahead, but their discussion can be prohibited on admin command. As for scientific and mathematical issues, they can already be discussed, but would be allowed at such a board anyway. Same with philosophy.

However, clarify partly what counts as 'serious' discussion.

Serious, as in, it would be likely to be found in a serious book, a college textbook, something that might be heard in a political debate, etc.

There would need to be a rule that if you flame, troll, or spam, that you will be automatically banned forever. That would be the only way to keep people in line on a 'Serious Discussion' board, in my opinion.

Does that sound like a good idea?

A ten day ban? That sounds better in my opinion. The board would have to be strict so people don't flame. Flaming on such a board could result into a giant flame war! :(

Cheat if you do this just make it like this:

This is a room for CIVIL debates so a few rules rules::
1.) If a mod or admin says stop or the debate gets too heated, the debate is over.
2.) No limit of people in a debate.
3.) As many debates as you want at a time but in their own threads.
4.) No controversial stuff, No Porn etc. (don't be rasict and such RESPECT other peoples opinons.)
5.) Debates go on until they get locked.
6.) if you repeatedly break any of the rules you will be banned for a set amount of time.

and like said above if someone gets to crazy you can warm them then ban them for a week or something.. to "cool" off...

Wow, great rules. If the board is made, I think cheat should use thse rules, and add some if he finds it fit to be added.

and note if you add it and it seems to just be causeing problems you can easily remove it right?
