L is Real 2401

I have two questions:
1. How the hell did people find out that it said 'L is Real 2401', or is that just a guess?
2. Does the inscription on the statue look the same in SM64DS. Just wondering, since Luigi is playable in SM64DS.

Some people sais that they discovered that L is reil in (i forget) by reveiwing the DS version of this game. They said it was more clear.

Oh, I'll have to check this out then! I wouldn't be able to tell that it said anything, but when you try to put 'L is Real 2401' in there, it kind of fits.

There is no evidence other than that it looks like it says L is Real 2401

The only thing that makes sense to me is, "L is".

I think it's all in japanese. Just look at the last word on the top right. Definately japanese.

And, no, it's impossible to see what it says on the DS version.
