In the part of this star with a Cataquack and an icy area, where you normally have to lure a cataquack to underneath the star and be thrown into it, you can easily get it without that. Just get to that island, then backflip to a nearby icy ledge, then a slightly higher ledge then you can backflip and spin into the star.
