First, you don't need to flood the last planet in infiltrating the Dreadnought. Go to the area with two platforms and a bridge between them. Wall kick up under the bridge and make sure your last wall kick takes you out of the bridge's shadow. Do this right and spin, and you can land on one of the platforms. Now long jump to the next one and you can basically walk up to the star. All without the area flooded or any lasers in action.
Secondly, on Bowser Jr's Airship Armada, aim the first cannon at the pole on the ship with the shop Luma. You can just land there as usual and skip a whole airship and cannon section.
