You know the hill in this course that contains the red coin right in the middle of it? The one right on the mountain that gets you half way up the mountain. Does it seem that in this game the mountain isn't as big as it was in the original game for the N64? I remember holding down my analog stick for a good 30 seconds to get to the top of that slope, but in this game it seems that it only takes about 10 seconds. I don't know if the slope itself is different, or if you can run faster in this game, but whatever it is you definitely get up that slope pretty darn quick. Also, the slope appeared to be not as wide in the DS version.

yeah, it's not as steep. I don't know why they did that though.
BTW, it's Bob-Omb, not Bob-Bomb.
(no big deal though:D)

I don't know why so many misspell Bob-omb. As for the hill, it does seem a bit less steep. But anything seems even less when playing as the faster Luigi.

Maybe because you're playing it on a handheld? Although each 3D Mario game has got generally bigger worlds. And maybe it's the feeling of going back to Mario 64 on a handheld?

Explain. It's easy because it's the first level, but I don't understand how the war is the best thing (other than that it admittedly is cooler than a boring old field).

I really don't think it's the size of the system. The hill was a good twice as high and wide... I remember.

I seem to be the only person who didn't notice much of a difference then.

Then power up your N64 version and DS version and then go up the hill. If I had my N64 I'd make a video, but it's at my brother's friend's house.

I can't. I think I gave the Nintendo 64 away...

Well, I'll ask my brother to get the N64 back from his friend and I can compare.

SWK22, is right.
I booted up my 64 and not only is it steeper, it's longer as well!
It took forever to get up there! I didn't think I was going to make it!:D

Exactly. I remember clearly getting impatient on going up the slope, and falling down so many times. :)

yeah, when I first got my N64, my attention span wasn't long enough to want to go all the way up. I always gave up half way, and went around the mountain.:D

Wouldn't surprise me. Took less time in the DS version it seems.
