View Full Version : Just how bad are the Nintendo Game Testers?

I am seriously losing my nerve with the glitches and errors that have occured in Nintendo DS games. First, I played Warioware Touched years ago, and guess what? Game temporarily deletes itself, weird glitches with auto moving things and the data returns.

Then I play New Super Mario Bros. The game sends this awful message at me for no reason at all (after saying 'Data is corrupt, cannot save'):

Sorry, no picture, it says that data is corrupted though.

And now, in Yoshi's Island DS, this error message comes up on it's own:

And all the times the game card is not recognised as well... Nintendo, either tell those game testers to do their job or have them fired!

It really is awful when games screw up though.

My F-Zero X data got erase before. When I looked at the staff ghost, some of the ones that I didn`t beat, were alreay beaten. Also my ghost got erased.

What? Some of the Staff Ghosts you did not beat yourself were beaten? Wow, that sure is messed up. But it sucks when games get erased.

While playing Slots Shot (in SM64 DS) and I about 3 times, not the entire data has been corrupted, but a random individual score has been wiped of the scoreboard <_<

My Diddy Kong Racing for N64 doesn`t keep the secret characters anymore. They won`t be there when I turn it on. The Super Metrold doesn`t save. It will be gone when you turn off the SNES.

Now that is just plain madness. A totally average score just disappearing into thin air? Something is certainly wrong with the DS carts if this can happen multiple times.

Even stranger. Does it keep any other data? Because if not, the battery could be dying out, which causes game data loss, such as in your Super Metroid game.

My adventure data is still there in DKR. My Super Metroid battery is dead. But when I reset after I saved, the data will be there. So the saving is used as check points.

Okay, then I think a partial battery problem may be to blame.

Well it happens with me...
More specifically, here's an example of a score board.
1. 69000
2. 68200
3. 65600
4. 63100
5. 61100

Let's say I got a '67300'... the score board would now say
1. 69000
2. 68200
3. 67300
4. 65600
5. 63100

I save the game, (well... it autosaves anyway).. and turn the game off
Then when I turn it on... I get this score board:
1. 69000
2. 68200
3. 65600
4. 63100
5. 61100

And according to that, your newest, middle score just went poof into thin air? That's just not normal, and may even be an individual game card fault.

I only had a few cases where my nintendo games went bonkers, but that's far fewer cases than with my PS2 games. once in FFXII, i had survived a boss battle and the game froze right afterwards, forcing me to fight him again ><

Ouch, that must have been one of the worst things to happen (needing to fight a boss again).

not to mention that a magic field was sapping my HP during the boss fight. Spent most of the time casting Curaja.

Ouch, that must have made it so much worse. I remember when I did something stupid though, and accidentally turned off the game when it was saving, erasing the data. That meant I had to play through 3 quarters of the game again.
