View Full Version : Would you say the changes in the game are for the better or worse?

Basically, would you say the things added, removed and changed in this game add or take away from the game?
My opinions:
Goomboss battle and Goomboss:
I think this was a great addition, not only because a semi Paper Mario boss returned, but because it was one of the only new levels which felt like a proper course. They promised new levels though, and I, disappointed as I am now, thought they meant more to add to the original 15.
Big Boo Battle and King Boo
King Boo was a great boss, but the level was awful. Should have made the level like a Luigi's Mansion style haunted house rather than what looks like a dank basement.
Chief Chilly Challenge
Very cool boss, but they should have made this level bigger.
Sunshine Isles
Very lame. Could have been great, but turned out to be a right badly designed area, and I thought it would be somewhat like Super Mario Sunshine. Boy was I wrong...
Secret of Battle Fort
Quite cool, but could have been made more significant. Come on Nintendo, why not make this area just a bit bigger vertically (be able to climb all round the top for another star and a boss battle) and make this into a character unlock level!
Characters
I like what we got, but think we should be able to fight Bowser as anyone, and maybe unlock characters like Donkey Kong or something (not Waluigi, that's an awful character idea).

Levels and Stars
Bob-omb Battlefield.
I think the island star should stay in and the second Big Bob-omb battle be scrapped or something. The Chomp should also be freed in more of the stars, to cause more havoc.
Big Boo's Haunt
They should have expanded the house and put the Luigi portrait somewhere else, replacing the switch star also with a more original star.
Hazy Maze Cave
Bit of a cop out that nothing was added or removed.
More worlds
Okay, this makes me want to sue. The back of the box clearly says 'All new courses' and courses, are the typical levels like Bob-omb Battlefield. Now, adding a few mini levels is not new courses, and I would go as far to say it is fraudulent advertising at the least. Nintendo, why did you not live up to your promise and add the new courses you said you would add?
Co op type mode
Maybe the thing from the beta version should be in, a co-op star collecting adventure mode with up to four characters would rule, going through specially designed areas, fighting enemies and facing off against Bowser in that basement dungeon area shown in early screenshots!

In my opinion, it's for worse. They take the originality out of the game.
These would of been cool in SM64... ONLY of they were secrets that you had too find. That would be awesome.

I agree with some things you say, but not all. I like the idea of Chief Chilly as a boss (should have totally replaced Big Bully, as he actually has a personality and some challenge to defeating him) and I liked some of it, but Sunshine Isles and Big Boo Battle were awful levels! No thought went into them whatsoever, which is a pity, because King Boo is awesome, and Super Mario Sunshine was a great game.

You can fight Chief Chilly in the original aswell, he is a level boss for Snowman's Land.

Not really, there is a difference in appearance, and the original one does not speak, only has to be knocked off once and is smaller.

Oh, and Chief Chilly is the only one with a mustache.

I too was fooled by the title "Sunshine Isles". It's not fun in single player, so why would it be more fun in multiplayer? It's a stoopid level!

Agreed. Any level including Delfino Plaza in Sunshine >>>>>> Corona Mountain>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Delfino Airstrip>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Sunshine Isles

When you think you have done alright... you have most likely screwed up. Or not. Works both ways.

Woot. I got a nice 16 and a half out of 22! Which should earn me a B or A, I don't know yet, but I went better than others! Still, I'm proud I got a good mark.

It was pretty hard to, as it was on fractions, and fractions can get confusing at the worst of times. But I got the last two questions right, and those two were like the "hard" questions! Also, I did a watercolour thing for Art at home to dave me from having to get it done in class time. It looks pretty neat as well, but I don't think I'll post it here though.

I added shading to it, so it looks super good. Yeah, so, back to the topic, which game is it again? Oh, SM64 DS. I was disappointed with the levels as well. I thought there'd be at least 5 new levels, but they were gimmicks, and had nothing to do with the game, apart from the character levels. (Unlocking Luigi, Mario, or Wario levels.)

I had ideas for all new levels and characters, so should I post them?

Cool. A DK King of Swing is coming for the DS, and looks like it's DKC themed, well, sort of.

Here's a link to the site for the DK game. You may not get all the pictures as you're not a member, but maybe you will, who knows?

Ah yes. Looks like a decent game, but I still don't understand how DK is swinging around underwater in one of the photos...

Yeah, that confused me as well.

In the locked pictures which I think you couldn't see, there's one called "cheese", and it has a DS with DK holding it on the top screen, and a DK standing on the beach on the bottom screen!

Probably some better Minigames, as Luigi's were great, just didn't like the slot ones too much... should've replaced it for darts or something.
cheat-master30
31st March 2007, 11:22 AM
Agreed, as Luigi's were too luck based.
