my little brothers stoped working but its not broken
today we bought a DS lite battry (because we thought hat might be it) and it dosent even fit in the system :S
but regardless its notthe battry.... it comes on then just turns off(like the green light comes on for a few seconds then gose off... andthe screen starts to light up but dosent come on..)
so I don't know whats wrong with it :P

You could try asking Nintendo customer support. Or you could trade it back in at a shop...

Hey that's EXACLY what happened to me. What happened to mine is the cable connecting the top screen to the ds broke.
I might have used to have the ds closest to that. the top of the r button wasn't gone, but I could make it flop around like that. I just had to take the close trigger out of it's socket and it would flop around.

So basically, the top screen wouldn't work then?

his doesn't flop around =/ it just doesn't turn on thou maybe it is In the switch

according to Nintendo's web site the closest thing to it is "its stuck In sleep mode" which means its junk unless you wanna pay 70$ to fix it..
soo it won't be getting fixed prolly... just buy a new regular ds when he gets 70$ again...
I may get it fixed at a later point and keep it as a spare... haha

Thank you Poofy Chicken. Do you have your own cleaning cloth for your DS? I got mine because my mother bought a DS accessory kit for me, and the cloth was something that came with it. It essentially looks like a bunched up mini-pillow at first (with Nintendo DS printed on it), but then deploys into a useful cloth and easily refolds back into the pouch it's permanently attached to. I have used it on occasion to wipe off dust and spit that I accidentally get on there (I talk right into the microphone).
While I guess you could use any cleaning cloth to wipe the DS with, I suggest you use an official cleaning cloth. That way, you're less likely to scratch the DS up and will not void the warranty.
