ds lite worse than the orignal?

my normal ds I accidently dropped it down the stairs it happened to my friend on the same stairs he had a lite it broke (mine was also in worse condition than the lite)it breaks easily how it is it better besides brighter

The DS Lite is slimmer and has a lighter screen than the DS Phat. Also, babes are drawn to it, so play it in public as much as you possibly can.

I like the reguler ds why because I'm cheap and I don't really need the smaller one or a brighter one.. as I don't really take it anywhere and if I do then it fits in my poket just fine and a brighter one dosent matter to me as I don't like stuff being super bright.. I turn the "bright settings" on gameboy games that have it to the lowest usualy... because it dosent bother me as much

Same here! Plus, I've dropped the Original DS hundreds of times on concrete and that, but the worst that's happened is a tiny scratch on the R button, apart from that, it's good. I don't like the Lite as it's too small, and I'd be smushing buttons. Plus if it were me, I'd be switching it off by accident A LOT...

true i had dropped mine closed open ect on concrete i got a scratch at the top of the screen that you dont notice while playing. my sister has a light and every time i play it i turn it off. plus it hurts my eyes and gives me a headache the normal one or phat ds (supposed to be fat not phat) is easy on my eyes and i never get a headache unless my sisters bothering me

its more comfortable,

and is worth more then lite, so you could sell it for more.
they dont sell the normal ones anymore, which makes them rarer.

dont beleive the normal ds is more expensive?

c. June/July 2007 (maybe earlier) - DS Lite snaps in half
Today - (after having the DS Lite over a year AFTER the DS Phat, lasting for a little over another year, and then snapping another 7+ months ago....) I STILL have the DS

Some people mentioned that the buttons are too close together for them on the Lite. I like mine like that, it gives me quicker button control. With all the intermediate wall jumping going on with SM64DS, the closer buttons make me more at home with the original than I believe the DS Phat would do for me.

So the Lite is much better than the original, in my opinion anyway.

I only have the Regular DS, but it works just fine. I've dropped it once or twice by accident and it's still absolutely fine, pretty much the same as it was when I first got it, only it doesn't shine as much. :p Plus even if it is big it fits into my pocket just fine, and I don't need the brightness of the Lite...it'd blind me. :p Plus the L/R buttons break a lot less easily on the DS than the DS Lite, and as far as I know, it can withstand quite a lot of accidents, entirely contrary to the DS Lite which has L/R buttons that break easily, and the thing itself also breaks easily. It's much more durable. I also have pretty big hands so I need the buttons to be more spaced out, and it feels better for me like that.

I believe the only real thing that sucks about DS Lite that DS Phat doesn't have, is flimsiness, I dropped my DS Phat many a time but it seems like it's not at all broken or damaged, and I hear of L and R buttons being broken all the time(although thankfully it hasn't happened to me). While the DS Lite is a bit more flimsy and weak than Phat, I must agree, the buttons being closer allows much quicker and efficient gameplay. Also, the DS Lite's audio and graphical capabilities seemed clearer than DS Phat.

I saw someone playing once, and the graphics seemed exactly the same except the screen was brighter (and by brighter I mean blinding if you look at it in the right angle). Also I couldn't even hear the Lite at all, yet I can hear my DS a bit.

The Original DS is definitely much more durable than the Lite, what with the Lite's shoulder buttons snapping off or coming loose or losing sensitivity, and the hinge almost completely breaking and nearly splitting off.

Personally, I never had problems with the Lite, and I frequently used my brother's Lite instead of my old fat DS.
