Here are my awesome level ideas for Mario Kart DS! The tracks:
Tiny-Huge Island
You go through a painting, then across two islands and up a bridge past the cheep cheep. You then go across through a portal to a mini-world and pass through a cave. Then out another painting and through the passageways to the finish line.

Wet-Dry World
You go along a walkway and down some steps. Then it's through some caves and across the flat ground where the water level changes constantly. One trip across some platforms and you are back to the finish line.

Kitchen Island
You go through each area in Wario Land, Super Mario Land 3.

The Perfect Bowser Castle track:
You enter through a series of passages leading outside, then across a bridge while avoiding Bullet Bills. Then you go into a large room and across a log while avoiding falling pieces of the ceiling and Nep-E-Nuts and Blarggs (lava sharks). One trip and you are outside, going up a tower dodging Kamek on a Broomstick and millions of bullet bills left, right and centre! Into a large room where you avoid more Thwomps, spinnig spiked pillars and large maces. Then, you go onto the roof, through a Battle between a past version of Mario and Bowser, avoiding him in his Koopa Clown Car firing fireballs and cannonballs. Then down a chute dodging large metal cannon balls and out of a cannon in front of the Castle again!
I have redesigned my new idea for a Bowser Castle level. Here's a description:
You go through a room with lava
Then across a rolling log, dodging cannon balls, bullet bills and fireballs everywhere!
Then inside through a Thwomp room
Get shot up the outside of a tower
Zoom across a yellow path avoiding bob-ombs and a huge Chain Chomp that chews up the track as it goes!
Then across more towers
You then go past a giant Bowser firing fireball and a version of Bowser in the Koopa Clown Car dropping huge cannon-balls and throwing mecha koopas
Then you fall inside a tower, avoiding huge spiked maces then race across clouds to the castle entrance again, where you enter and start lap 2!

Lethal Lava Land (Super Mario 64 reference)
You race down into the volcano, then across a bridge across lava while avoiding Nep-E-Nut enemies. You then go across some stone bridges while avoiding flame throwers. Then you go up a path avoiding bullies, and can see part of the volcano from Super Mario 64 DS in the distance. The next part is across some skulls above a ring of fire, then across some bridges avoiding podoboos (fireballs). Next, you go over a blargg enemy from Super Mario World and across some skulls to a road, then follow the path to this launcher where you get shot out the top of the volcano. Finally, you drop down and can see part oft he level from Super Mario 64, and across a bridge made of small cages. Then you're at the start line again for two more maps.
1- Pipe Maze- This track would be based on world 7 of Super Mario Bros 3 and you have to race through a series of pipes avoiding piranha plants, spinies and torrents of water.
2- Turtle Zone- Based on a level from Super Mario Land 2, you would have to race through a submarine while avoiding obstacles then across the sea bed before restarting for lap 2. Each lap has the place flood more and you have to use a different route each lap.
Choco Island 3
Here, you race around Choco Island from Super Mario World (the real one, not just a desert) and you start at the area where you would complete Choco Island 1, dodging Dino Torches (monsters which breathe fire). Then, you race across some mushrooms, and shoot through a pipe turned cannon across a pit. You then dodge Dino Rhinos which charge at the karts, and turn right across a boardwalk to the left of the island, dodging more prehistoric monsters. Finally, you race back to the start across another bridge.

Ghost House Track
My next track is based on a traditional Ghost House level. You race across various boardwalk platforms dodging boos, then across another set avoiding balls of green lava/slime. You have to dodge the ghost Lakitu with the blue fire, and race around back to the start eventually.
I can't fully describe, the map is the only real way!
http://dsultimate.net/Board/upload/../../GhostHousetrack.PNG
My final new track is based on Vanilla Fortress is Super Mario World. This is special as you are in an underwater Fortress, dodging spiked maces and skeleton fish!
You start off by racing into the Fortress, and down a pipe. You then avoid skeleton fish in great shoals, then maces like the pendulums in Tick Tock Clock. If you then go down, you avoid Thwomps and the falling roof which flattens your kart, like lightning effect or a Thwomp. Going straight would lead you into a room with great spiked logs smashing down from above. Then you go into a pipe, and across a platform while avoiding a fish which eats you whole, and a spiked fish in the water. One more pipe and you are back at the start line!

Ok, my new track design has finally been finished and I think it is the first computer drawn map which looks incredible. So presenting, the track design of the week... The Forest of Illusion!
Based on Super Mario World, this track is based on the mysterious multiple route forest section of the game, with the same kinds of hazards, including floating bubbles which burst leaving bob-ombs on the track, a chain chomp (well not exactly like old), porcupine fish enemy from underwater levels and plenty of piranha plants.
You race across a bridge avoiding bob-ombs falling from the sky (and sometimes hitting falling mushrooms to go faster), then down a log. You avoid a piranha plant and go across a dirt track to a lake, and avoid the spiny fish enemies. Then you race on through more paths avoiding a Chain Chomp, and round to the finish avoiding another piranha plant. Oh, and watch out for the trees!

I know it's crap. So don't say a thing. I was just bored like usual.
Red = Shortcut
line through map = best route
Blue = Water
Green = Grass
If anyone asked. The name is... KOOPA ISLAND

Hey. If the old forum is still up, is there a possibility of getting my two tracks from there to here? I'd like too, because I accidentally deleted them, oops...
By the way, the tracks are good!

Does not look great, but I guess the idea for the level must be okay. As in what happens as you race there.

Nah, as I use a Free image hosting, and you don't have to join to use it! YAY FEEDOM! So I can go back and copy them to here? I'll try it...

Pipe Bend
http://show.imagehosting.us/show/1693345/0/nouser_1693/T1_-1_1693345.png
The circle with the spot in the middle is a loop, similar to Rainbow Road's loop in MKDS. I put Fake Item Boxes on the course to make some hazards. Once someone runs into them, they don't reappaer.
I haven't seen a course which is just a warp pipe course, so I wanted to make one. If I have an other designs, I probably try to make them different to ones already made.
Item Ideas:
Time stopper/Stopwatch = Stops time for 5 seconds.
Wings = Makes jumps higher when you press R button for a short time.
Shine Sprite = Brightens everyone's vision except yours, like blooper, except
it's a really bad glare.
1-up Mushroom = It enhances all abilities of the kart for a short time.
Warp Box: Place it on the ground like a fake item box. The catch is, when you run into it, you instantly warp with another racer. Great advantage for 8th place!
Podoboo(The fire thing featured in Mario Party's minigame, "hot rope jump"):
Use and 5 of these will drag behind you. You can either throw them forwards or drop them behind you, and who ever rides over them, loses the item they are holding, and get a nasty burn that slows your Kart down for the next 5 seconds.

Underwater track
http://show.imagehosting.us/show/1691414/0/nouser_1691/T1_-1_1691414.png
Description:
A track underwater. Like a glass tunnel in the ocean.
There aren't many hazards, except for some cracks, which shoot water occasionally. And cheep cheep, like from koopa beach on SNES, are splashing around. The floor is covered by a thin layer of water, but that doesn't affect your speed.

The older version of this forum, which was on Invisionfree, and had 65 members (but less posts). We're overtaking it in popularity by the way, by far.
