Coin Collecting Records List

[cheat-master30]

As any good player knows, coin collecting is the ultimate stage in Super Mario 64/DS completion, and for years players have been trying to collect all coins. So submit you coin collecting records here, and add them to the list!

The number after the course name is the highest score from cyberscore.net, and most likely the maximum record. If you have this score, it will be highlighted red. Scores HIGHER then this will be highlighted blue. If your score is blue, can you please re-check the score, and either provide proof, or correct it if it is wrong?

The highest amount you can get is 255. But you can't reach that total on all levels.

I think in Bob-omb Battlefield, with out glitches it's about 153, and with, it's well... over 200... I don't think it's quite 255 though... I know some levels have 'infinite coin glitches', CCM, THI, RR, ... SML(?)..... and some other level I probably forgot.... in which you can get up to 255 coins.

Yes, 255 is the max in any level, count the coins if you don't believe me.

It's correct, as I was trying to improve JRB. I got them from SL, and SL got them from Tinister who ha collected them all.

To improve JRB you must get the two red coins at the back of the ship while the ship is still sunken. it's ******* hard.

We don't need proof, but if you want to post the proof, do so. And yeah, people do collect coins. This went on for ages at the Mario 64 DS board at Gamefaqs before stopping, and some people are working on this in Super Mario Galaxy. Coin collecting never stops...

I'm aware of that. =p I'm one of the few coin collectors from 2005. (I even did a few personal courses back in late 2004)

Possibly referring to something to do with hitting an enemy at such an angle, that it doesn't kill them, but you get a coin from the egg for each enemy, then I think the enemy has also another coin, so you get an extra coin... or something similar.

I can assure you guys that there are no known glitches in Bob-omb Battlefield when it comes to collecting coins. (at least for high score purposes)

That trick can only work on stages with enemies that do not regenerate. Bob-omb Battlefield as an infinite supply of bob-ombs at your disposal, so inventing a combo that abuses that in this stage is frivolous.

The whole point of the Rainbow Ride score is that I've performed a glitch that allows me to have the 100-coin star without having 100 coins on my record. I also have some new scores from my new file I'm starting. I'll post them, but remember since my top screen went haywire, they'll be in weird colors.

Why dont we keep record of the most coins collected on the bowser levels, that secret arena level, the cloud flying level, mario land, luigi land, and wario land. Although you can't save these records it still would add another challenge for us to try.(|:})
