I was just reading a top 50 most annoying things in games list, and I have just realised all the things I really dislike about certain videogames, so, as the topic creator there would have wanted, here is my list version (but a bit longer).

1- When the really random and impossible happens

I hate this. Like when you fire a Blue Shell against the computer and it misses. Or you fire the Omega Cannon from the bottom of the level, run to the top before the shot and you self destruct from a blast five floors down. I mean, is this normal?

2- Computer AI is horrible

Like how the AI is basically either invincible with rubber band effect or so bad they kill themselves or let themselves be killed. I saw a character in Metroid jump up and down in lava until they got shot in the head. Very realistic... and how some AI just kept running into the same wall.

3- How games force you to cause a situation

Or how, they often cause extremely unlikely, probably impossible 50 foot leaps backwards if you are about to break the storyline.

4- long cut scenes

Do we really care? Even worse, why does a game like a Mario game, or a shoot everything game need long, boring cut scenes?

5- Credits

Who other than the creators themselves cares who made something? As long as it was good, I have no complaints about who made it.

6- Lava, spikes and bottomless pits

How often do you see a bottomless pit? Why is there a platform of spikes floating in mid air?

7- How evil doers gloat about their plans...

... and give away their plans to whoever is between them and the next country...

8- How no one but you cares

(the topic creator for the topic this is based on said this as well) So when the world ends, everyone will be going about business as usual, regardless of how there is a war, alien invasion or nuclear apocalypse.

9- Pokemon game controls

You can only walk 4 directions, not diagonal. Very realistic is it not? And very time consuming to get anywhere before getting the 'Fly' ability...

10- How good characters always say yes

Come on, this is seriously what they would say to each of this things:

Save the world? Yes (nods). Go sky diving? Yes. Feed the goldfish? Yes.

11- Invisible walls

And more precisely, how Mario Kart Double Dash had like 20 foot invisible brick walls around any normal object.

12- Conspiracies and myths

Don't we all hate how some people say there are satanic messages in pretty much everything? Or all this end of the world nonsense, or how people base whole beliefs on something being said backwards?

13- Ridiculous hazards

Or how Paper Mario has piranha fish in fountains and garden ponds...

14- Unexpected boss battles

Battle boss one, then battle boss 2 straight after, no healing, then battle boss 3 with no healing still. Think this feels like a really far fetched and half attempt at difficulty?

15- Unkillable bosses

Or how a 50 foot high concrete and steel monster just stops you out of nowhere for some unbelievable introduction storywise of another character.

16- Random

Get a rope. Anything like this in Mario Party 5 is just plain a dumb idea.

17- Collecting things

Like how many games seem to be stupidly extended by having to collect large lists of pointless stuff for unsatisfied characters...

18- Back tracking

Or how to double the length of the game with no imagination... make them revisit the first half again.

19- How the same is released time and time and time and time and time again...

Come on, does absolutely no one figure out how games like Madden, Fifa and other EA games are basically the same old game with nicer graphics?

20- If you save a character early, they will probably help you later...

Certainly something in 3D Legend of Zelda games such as Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, where the sages later on were characters you helped earlier in the game...

Final Fantasy Bestiary. A Bestiary is a list of enemies that you defeated. There are some areas in Final Fantasy that you can never go back and if you miss one enemy from that place and saved the game, you have to start over. I start over Final Fantasy 4 for GBA like six times because I keep missing some enemies.

Adding a few more:

21- How every boss is pretty much some giant evil monster. I mean, you never seem to fight smaller, agile and skilled in combat type bosses, or at least not often.

22- How the item to kill a boss is always hidden in the dungeon with the boss. I mean, how stupid are evil villains?

23- You are always incredibly weak at the start of an RPG game, regardless of who you are, how old you are, how many weapons you have...

24- How there is normally a very annoying character 'helping' you throughout that you cannot defeat and cannot get to shut up.

25- How Yoshi's Island DS went overboard with spikes and lava. I mean, are the secret levels even fair? Or mental torture?

26- How in all console Mario RPGs, excluding handhelds there is always a secret boss more difficult than the last, and harder to reach so you are totally worn out when you reach it.

Ah yes, unmissable items and enemies. That's why I am grateful for the tattle log in Paper Mario 2 as if you miss something, it's in Frankly's bin.

Of course you will start weak in RPG`s. You want to start strong?

No, but it can be annoying. That and random battles (which is why I like Mario RPGs, because you can see the enemies before the battles).

Do you runaway from enemies a lot? I runaway from enemies in FF 4 because i`m already in level 99 to go to the secret boss.

nothing against Nintendo that i can think of. I don't mind waiting alittle longer for a game I want if it means they might make it better then it was gonna be... an even repitive games are alright sometimes (like same game over an over)

I guess. I still hate auto scrolling, and super quick time limits. Like, escape this castle in 2 minutes flat before it explodes/implodes/collapses/is set alight/lava rises up/ceiling falls in...
