Compare the DS Lite screen below:

To the Game Boy Advance original screen:

With games that dark, people's eyes must be ruined!

Gee, now I wish I had a Lite...

But I tend to play them indoors, so the screen looks brighter than when it is sunlight! :)

Yeah. But the top one was taken in the dark with no flash and second one was taken in normal light conditions, no natural light with no flash activated.

Feel sorry for the eyes of people playing on a GBA!

I kno I've seen GBA SP with really bright lights thou.. I'm happy with my SP for now.. but witch is better the origanle DS or a DS lite? or are they about the same?

cheat-master30

DS Lite is better. Smaller, easier to use, fits in pocket, varying back light settings from low to full power light up a multiple metre area power (I tested that in a blackout recently by using it as a torch!)

then i'll be buying a DS lite when I have the money to get one.. also need to be able to buy children of mana or phatom hourglass or maybe FF3.. thou I'll have to look around since I havn't really looked at what DS games there are now.

cheat-master30

There will be more games you will like. Say exactly what types of games you play and I can see what games of that category are on the Nintendo DS.

mostly RPGs an advnture games... thou i heard there were some really good puzzle games on the DS and brainage(think that whats it called) I just remmbered that.. it sounds intresting

I'll play Super mario 64 ds since my little brother has it thou I'm not real big on side scrollers or platfrumers since I'm not really good at them

Brain Training I think is what you mean by a puzzle game on the DS, but there are other puzzles games such as Meteos, Polarium and Big Brain Academy. And there is supposedly going to probably be another version of Brain Age/Brain Training. There is a Fire Emblem game on the DS, and there is Final Fantasy 3, and Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, etc. And supposedly a few third party Strategy based games in the traditional sense.

I remmber now I saw age of empires for DS I may try that out.. Idk how good it'll be but even if its horrable oh well

You can only try a game, as reviews are guidelines, not the set truth.

caprontos
5th January 2007, 08:14 PM
by try it out I meant buy it... but even if its not very good it dosen't matter

cheat-master30
5th January 2007, 08:29 PM
Nope, as you can sell it for cash again!

caprontos
5th January 2007, 08:34 PM
true but I never sell my games, I have a lot of games I won't ever play again.. but still gonna keep them.

I have it, and I have Age of Kings for PC. It is very different from the PC version, only real things in common are the names of troops and buildings. Other than that the gameplay is completely different. Very fun though for what it is, as long as you don't purchase it hoping its going to be a handheld Age of Kings like the PC version. Think along the lines of Advance Wars. I like it, but I don't really play it that much.

As far as platforming goes, you might want to try one of the Castlevanias. I'm not much of a platformer either, my favorite series are pokemon, zelda, and final fantasy, but I though Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow was pretty fun. The weapons are amazing and so is the gameplay because of all of how EASY it is to customize your character. If you kill a monster and collect its soul, you can press start, go to the list of monster souls, select it, and R or up+B will do whatever its description is. The weapons are also very varying and unique.

That's a good bet as well.

my cousin has Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow.. and I know that AoE on the DS would be much different from the PC game.. I have Age of Kings to an the expansion pack age of conquerers I think..

Yeah, some of those game suggestions should keep you interested in playing Nintendo DS games.

wow O.O that is bright

cheat-master30
5th January 2007, 09:59 PM
Exactly. As I said though, it makes a great torch as well as a games console. The old GBA is a pain to use though (mine worse, the D Pad is broken and you can't use it!)

weird I had an GBA that had a broken D-pad...

cheat-master30

Try playing Mario Kart though! You go straight into walls because you cannot possible turn, or keep falling off the course!

Yeah, it was useful in a time of no lighting for about 30 minutes! Played DS games then as well...

I would not like to try with that Gameboy Advance console. Boss battles would be an utter nightmare, and dungeons would be so annoying...

caprontos
6th January 2007, 12:16 AM
or impossable.. I"m not sure it was either right or left on the d pad that didn't work at all... it wasn't any fun

cheat-master30
6th January 2007, 12:24 AM
Mario Kart was not much fun in this situation either...

caprontos
6th January 2007, 12:26 AM
oh I have mario cart for GBA now.. i havn't played it much thou

cheat-master30
6th January 2007, 12:29 AM
I preferred the DS game though, as Super Circuit, while popular with those who are not fans of mini turbos thanks to the difficulty of using them in that game I find a bit basic for a Mario kart game, and a bit difficult.

caprontos
6th January 2007, 12:31 AM
it is really hard... i can't stay on the track half the time

cheat-master30
6th January 2007, 12:40 AM
Meh, the controls are the worst of any of the games in the series. Too accurate I say the control scheme is, too sharp turning as well.

caprontos
6th January 2007, 12:50 AM
I was almost good at the Mario cart 64... then this.. I'm just horrable

cheat-master30
6th January 2007, 12:52 AM
Do not worry. Mario Kart Super Circuit is different because it is more like the SNES version than the later consoles versions and Mario Kart DS.

caprontos
6th January 2007, 01:05 AM
well thats good I maybe by that just ot have a racing game for the DS.. witch ones for the DS?

cheat-master30
6th January 2007, 01:06 AM
Mainly Mario Kart DS and Diddy Kong Racing (a re-release version). Only two good DS racing games, and no F-Zero game there yet either.

You get used to it quickly enough.

I also don't like their incredibly bloated stylus's

cheat-master30
25th June 2007, 05:18 PM
I personally prefer the stylus. Easier to use. As for the D Pad, seems to be a love or hate thing.

TheUltimateKoopa
25th June 2007, 10:45 PM
Well I had a DS Lite... but well... cheat, you know what happened don't you? If anyone wants to know..... the top half is hanging... literally, on one hinge, so if you open it, and hold the DS upright, the top half will slip down, and you will have the top screen over the bottom screen, almost 90 degrees between each other.... :(

cheat-master30
25th June 2007, 11:09 PM
Oh my... are people here unlucky with consoles to some extent?

TheUltimateKoopa
25th June 2007, 11:13 PM
Not as bad as my Dreamcast.... talk about sensitive... if it so much moves an attometre (that's 0.000000000000000001 metres for all you geeks ), such as if you walk near it... you know how the floor lowers VERY slightly to even the force out or something.... the console will freeze... it's like the simpsons episode where the butterfly goes on the bus and it explodes.... lol...

I have the original ds and so it's not as bright as the ds lite but if you have your lite so bright your just wasting the battery the original ds light is fine for me. (But I would't mind having a brighter light)
