I just felt like copy/pasting my review fromhttp://freewebs.com/goodzandbadz
Metroid Prime: Hunters
The best game for the DS ever. Some people focus on the singleplayer adventure mode and say this game sucks bad,
well, it doesn't take a brainless monkey to look at the multi-player and agree with me.
Multi-player mode is basically an arena with people shooting at each other, sound simple? No. There are 6 other playable hunters
besides Samus, along with 7 other weapons besides the power beam and missiles, 7 modes of gameplay, such as Prime Hunter, Survival, and Bounty.
The single-card multiplayer is only limited in characters for the person without the cardtridge, also the 6 modes of gameplay besides
battle are not playable, otherwise, it's the same as multi-card or Wi-Fi playing.
Don't have anybody to play with on multi? Set up to 3 bots to fight with, you can change their skill level from 1-3 stars for how good you are.
The controls have 4 modes, as well as a look invert mode, all of which you can set to your preference of sensitivity. Right and left-handed stylus mode,
and right and left-handed dual(buttons) mode. The dual mode is very inaccurate, and at first stylus mode is hard to get used to, but it only takes about 5-10 minutes of playing the game to get
used to it. Also, the stylus mode is very accurate and well-balanced. DID I MENTION GLORIOUS WI-FI?! The Wi-Fi gameplay on this game
is the best I've ever seen, but there are too many hackers and it's a bit easy to get matched up with someone who is much better than you.
Enough of this, lemme explain why some people hate the singleplayer, including me. First of all, there is not really any main bosses except for Gorea,
you just fight the hunters over and over, and a few Alimbic security monsters along the way. The movies never show the other hunters unless
they are shooting at crap like retards and the only story to the other hunters is the 6 lines on their bios in the instruction booklet. The scan visor
only needs to be used a couple of times unless you want 100% complete so you can get that little octolith on your hunters license. Otherwise,
the scan visor is nearly useless. But the multi-player modes seriously make up for that numbnuts excuse of an adventure mode.
Pros:
9 weapons
7 playable hunters
Well-balanced multi-player
7 modes of multi-player gameplay
4 types of control modes, including a look invert
Wi-Fi... own!
Forgot to mention this game is the only DS game I've ever seen with Voice Chat in Wi-fi with friends
Cons:
Dual mode is useless, and stylus mode is hard at first
No real main bosses besides Gorea
The hunters don't have much of a story behind them and the movies never show them
Scan visor is useless
Your L button gets too much of a workout.
