I personally like having epic music to go with everything.
It gives a game a very pleasant feel.

I believe FF and Zeldas are excellent examples of music + graphics = 1337 combo.

Not really, since I've played quite a few games with no music whatsoever. It is a nice thing to have thought, and I personally prefer the music without lyrics...

I personally like some lyrics, like FFVIII's 'Eyes on Me' and FFXII's 'Kiss me Goodbye'

I like the music an awful lot in games. It's actually gameplay that matters, but music is certainly what I take into consideration. The games I play have a nice atmosphere when the right music is in place.
SM64 music really went well with the game. The BBH main theme captured the environment's feelings, and the Merry-go-round theme had that carnival grip.
Also, in the Robot Storm mod for CNC RA2 YR, I find myself attracted to the music. Even though I'm not playing the mod, I still like to listen to the music pack that came as a separate download on the site. So, yeah, music means a lot to me.
As for the lyrics thing, I can agree. To an extent. Most often, I prefer to play a game without lyrics. But for a while there in the past, I was listening to Metallica while playing RA2.
Check this music atmosphere out w/ RS gameplay:

Music is one of the things that you need in SUM games *cough*Yoshi's Island*cough*. I mean think about it if music wasn't in all games F.E.A.R wouldn't have it scaryness ,Mario it's pleasantness, Zelda it's epicness and many more

Thats the ending of FF XII
The music is really good. I like it a lot.
The entire game has really good music actually....
Me and a fewbuddies are thinking of making a game, and the first thing I said was: 'I'm doing the music' So far, we haven't started, but, I've already got some good music.

I think music is a very important part in gaming. SSBB shows you how well music can be done.
Though, in hand-held games, I rarely play with music, usually my iPod in my ears.

Not even when playing Kirby games?

I usually don't decide a game by the music, but between a game with bad music and an almost exactly the same game with good, music, I would like the one with good music.

The best way to experience handheld game music is with ear phones. You can hear all the tunes playing at once and in perfect balance.

So, did anyone listen to the music?
Anyway, Golden Sun and FFXII RW have the best handheld music so far, console, FFXII, Brawl and Samurai/Dynasty Warriors

I need to try that... except listening to some music (Mario and Luigi Partners in Time) would basically depress the hell out of who was listening to it...

It depends for me. Music Has to be good on any system i play on (maybe excluding the atari 2600). But anything ps2 and up has to have somewhat decent graphics in my opinion.
