Well, I (NintenDan) have re-joined to the DS Ultimate forums. I tried to login when I first got here, but soon realised I had to register again! :p

I felt stupid then, but now I'm happy, because the site is all brand new and spiffy! And the smilies look a lot more... smily!

Once again, I hope this place gets bigger and bigger a lot sooner!

I know. vBulletin is very, very different to Invision Power board is in layout. But it beats it in layout in my personal opinion!

I agree

So true. The features here kill Invision Power Board to the largest extent.

I have not really used the spellcheck, but the reputation systems, custom BB code and profile fields, announcements from Admin CP and the other features allow a huge amount of customisation. Plus, this quick reply is so helpful.

I don't need a spell checker that much, but the quick reply seems helpful. I'm using it right now, and It's my first time!

I like the layout a lot more too!

I meant on forums and the like? Is it not quicker just to type correctly than wrong? According to some people that is.

caprontos

spelling is a subject like math or reading... saying thats would be like me saying to someone that is bad a math why not just do the math problems right the first time it would be faster then making all the mistakes.... or why tellling someone that can't read to just read the book right and it would be easyer... saying to just spell right isn't possable for someone that isn't a good speller...

I understand thou theres thos people that put numbers in there words... there annoying..

Very true. Numbers in words are annoying, and alternate caps are hard to read (try reading an old novel from about the 17th-18th century).

I had to read some old book in school, and this person who wasn't good at reading started. (It was a class member reads one paragraph, then next student reads paragraph, etc.) He read 3 whole pages because his friends told him to keep reading! It was funny! Mean, but funny!

Hah! Sounds hilarious. This is tougher to read though (a real one line extract):

I was born in the Year 1632, in the City of York, of a good Family, tho' not of that Country, my Father being a Foreigner or Bremen, who settled first at Hull: He got a good Estate by Mechandise...

From Robinson Crusoe, by Daniel Defoe, published in 1719

I see what you mean. It's hard to believe that some people actually talked like that in the earlier years...

11th January 2007, 01:46 PM
Yeah, and they did actually use the Italics randomly as well, plus change style. That book alone goes from a period of what seems like a day, then says that 30 years have passed.

It actually is. It does also not help that I get no choice what book to study.

NintenDan
15th January 2007, 07:38 AM
I agree with you. For some unkown reason, you'll always get stuck with some book to study that you completely hate!
