View Full Version : Motion, not to be force implemented

As you all know, the idea of motion based control is a good part of the Wii and why many of the games are so original and interesting, but a thought I have is that it should not be implemented to all games. The reasoning for this is most simply that while new, original concepts are made for these controls, and Warioware is probably the best series on earth for new ideas and methods, general adventure and some other games should hold off on this. Yes, controls should be used whenever they are appropiate, and anything with direct combat with swords and weapons, or some aiming and some other concepts should always use the new style controls. However, Nintendo should not put this into Mario Kart or Smash Bros for full controls, as somehow, I don't think the controls for those kinds of games just are going to work with such a method. In English basically, they should be adding them because it makes a game more fun, or for scenarios where the gameplay is made for it rather than just for the sake, as this is how I think EA and such companies may really screw up some games.

True, as many disasters are due to not listening to this problem:
'If something is not broke, don't fix it'.

For Mario Kart and Smash Bros...
Mario Kart: Actually, the Wiimote is a good idea for this. You can use it like a wheel (horizontally), and probably use B to shoot items.
Smash Bros.: They did say that you can use your GCN controller for this.

Yeah, but I was just saying that Super Smash Bros would be killed if they ever went Wii remote exclusive for controls, as it would take huge getting used to by current players and experts.

Not all games take advantage of them. Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn is a prime example.
BTW, Japan already have 3 fire Emblem games when USA, EUR and AUS have none! I'm pissed !
