Symerwizkid22's Diddy Kong Racing Character + Course Guide
(Note, the following is my own guide to the characters and courses in Diddy Kong racing for the Nitnendo DS. This is my own original work. Please don't copy it. Thanks.)
Starting Characters (All stats out of 5)
Pipsy (mouse)
Speed: 1
Handle: 5
Accel: 5
OTHER: Pipsy is a good character is you haven't unlocked any other racers yet. She may not be very fast, but if you can get in the leader position quickly, she is deadly. Pipsy is also good with recovery on the count of her acceleration is a 5.
Tip-Tup (turlte)
Speed: 1
Handle: 5
Accel: 5
OTHER: With the same stats as Pipsy, it is pretty much just a battle of who looks the coolest. Tip-Tup also has great handling and acceleration, but low speed on the count of he is a turtle.
Diddy Kong (chimpanzee)
Speed: 2
Handle: 3
Accel: 3
OTHER: Diddy kong is the "star" racer of the game. He is a pretty normal racer with good all-around stats. He would be a good choice for someone who just picked the game up the other day.
Dixie Kong (chimpanzee)
Speed: 2
Handle: 3
Accel: 3
OTHER: With the same stats as Diddy Kong, she is also a good choice for someone who just got the game. She has decent everything, and will be a good racer to pick for someone that wants a racer with well balanced stats.
Tiny Kong (chimpanzee)
Speed: 2
Handle: 3
Accel: 3
OTHER: The last Kong of the group. Just like the rest of the Kong's she has decent all around stats and will appeal to those who have just turned on the game for the first time.
Timber (tiger)
Speed: 3
Handle: 3
Accel: 3
OTHER: If I could give you one and only one suggestion as to your first racer, it would be Timber. He has perfectly well balanced stats with all 3's. He is a perfect character to use until you unlock some more characters.
Bumper (badger)
Speed: 3
Handle: 3
Accel: 2
OTHER: Another normal starting character with normal starting character like stats. He has decent speed and handling, but his acceleration good use some work.
Krunch (alligator/crocidile)
Speed: 4
Handle: 2
Accel: 2
OTHER: Krunch may appeal to many new racers as the best starting racer since he has the best speed, but his semi-poor handling and acceleration may leave you in the dust.
Unlockable Characters (All stats out of 5)
Drumstick (rooster)
Speed: 4
Handle: 2
Accel: 5
OTHER: If you can get by this rooster's semi-poor handling (or just get used to it), then Drumstick will easily become one of your favorite racers with great speed and perfect acceleration.
Taj (genie/elephant)
Speed: 5
Handle: 1
Accel: 1
OTHER: While the handling can be terrible, and the acceleration pathetic, you may just become friends with this elephant for his perfect speed. If you're not a big fan of getting to "know a racer's handling", then you will likely hate Taj.
Wizpig (bully/pig)
Speed: 5
Handle: 1
Accel: 1
OTHER: The main villain in this game has the same stats as your friend. If you can get over the steering, and poor acceleration, then you may just like the mean, fat pig.
T.T. (time trialer/clock)
Speed: 5
Handle: 4
Accel: 5
OTHER: [Statistically] the best racer in the game hands down. Though he may be a pain to unlock if you have no upgrades, he is worth it with perfect speed and acceleration; and great handling!
Main Courses
DINO DOMAIN
JUNGLE FALLS: This is more or less just an oval with two mini tunnels and a dinosaur. It is a very simple course, and it should be since it is the first course of the game.
FOSSIL CANYON: This is another generic course with a lake, a tunnel, and a dirt road and concret road.
JUNGLE FALLS: A very short course. It consists of a bridge, a lake, and tunnel where you have the choice of either going high or low via plane. There is a dinosaur skeleton that you literally drive through with a zipper placed very wisely right in it's mouth.
HOT TOP VOLCANO: The most original course in Dino Domain. You can't use a kart, and are forced to use either a hovercraft or plane. It is a river of lava with many overhangs, tunnels, and a dinosaur at the end to be careful of.
SNOWFLAKE MOUNTAIN
EVERFROST PEAK: A figure 8 track only available in the plane. It has a tunnel, some path choices, and a little river.
WALRUS COVE: Quite a unique course. It has a loop, a section where you jump from island to island, and a bridge going through the loop. It is a fun and original course.
SNOWBALL VALLEY: Quite possibly the shortest course in the game. It has a tunnel, an "ice bridge", and a slight hill with huge snowballs that you must avoid.
FROSTY VILLAGE: A little village surrounded by water. It has a main village part with 3 indistinct paths that you can go through, 2 caves, and a waterfall.
SHERBERT ISLAND
WHALE BAY: A short little oval with a boat, some whales, and a waterfall cave.
CRESCENT ISLAND: Shaped like a lima bean. This course is on a beach with a pirate ship, a cave, and a little "overhang cave at the beginning." It ends with an abrupt 180 degree angle turn.
PIRATE LAGOON: A quick lagoon with a water cave and a couple of showing sand-bars.
TREASURE CAVES: Another shorter course with an outside beach, a little tunnel for a car and one higher for a plane, and a HUGE cave that is about half the course with murky water on both sides.
DRAGON FOREST
WINDMILL PLAINS: A vast of countryside with some windmills and tunnels.
GREENWOOD VILLAGE: A complex village full of different paths, a well you can drop into, and a path in the woods.
BOULDER CANYON: Hovercraft only course. This course had a drawbridge [functional], a castle, and logs that can be a real pain in the butt to get around.
HAUNTED WOODS: Another figure 8 with a bridge, ghosts, and woods of course!
FUTURE FUN LAND
SPACEDUST ALLEY: Plane only. This course has a UFO, a tunnel, and a bridge.
DARKMOON CAVERNS: Mostly caves with 2 loops and some very sharp turns; one being a whole 360 degrees!
SPACEPORT ALPHA: A spaceport [duh]. It has many different alleys and futuristic paths.
STAR CITY: Complete with caves, tunnels, and it's own city in the stars.
Bonus Courses
DIDDY KONG ISLAND
THUNDER COVE: A course with many different path variations and a couple of bridges.
MEANDERING MOUNT: A twisty path up and down and all around a mountain with a path through it.
SPLASHDOWN PASS: A path following a river with a cave and many overhangs and river crossings.
STRANGLED SHRINE: It's a shrine! WOW! It has a temple and a river path with rocks.
