A couple rumors (most of which I find unlikely) have been spreading about a new sega console called the "Sega Phoenix" according to what i've read during a press interview about e3 2008 Yuji Naka said "this year sega has a surprise no one will expect" that sounded pretty intriguing but what do you guys think?
Fact or Crap?
Good or Bad?
Want or Don't Want?

I doubt it for the simple reason that competition is getting tough, and many of Sega's games haven't adapted to 3D well. Can a Sega console compete with the innovation of Nintendo, or the fast shrinking market of the other companies?

lol. as for the 3d thing sega hasn't done as good as nintendo but they have done remarkably well like like in Sonic 2K6 or SA2B or SADX aswell as many others but the difference is the reason they don't do as many 3-Ds and appear to be slowly reverting back to 3-D is because they are most praised for their 2-d games

Sega is having enough trouble making good games. They don't have what it takes for another console.

There hasn't been a Sega console for a while now. They did have some fun games though. I doubt a new console is coming. They should just join Nintendo or something if they want money. Although, I hope Sonic is here to stay.

They need better games to even have a chance.

They need REASON to make better games. See sega has AMAZING potential, the sonic storyline is insanely inspirational and awesome however because they stopped competing in the console race after being eliminated by the PS2 and Gamecube then their only chance to survive in the software industry was to keep sonic alive which they did remarkably well but since they haven't and can't have a chance to revive because no one "reckognizes" anyone but sonic and nights so all others are disregarded "other stupid 3rd party games" like frieken cooking mama but most aren't now I'm not trying to sound sega biased nor nintendo biased but if sega can't find a nice spot to fit in a new console they WILL NOT make it.

It won't happen. As stated above, Sega has to get in gear quickly, not only to keep their system alive, but to keep pumping out the games.
Oh, and cheat, the markets for other companies is still strong.
And Elvis, Cooking Mama is amazing. >_>

Possible because they could work on lots of sonic games and there has been 3D sonic game so they could have a new sega ssonic:

I don't want a new Sega console, but I want some good 2D Sonic games similar to Sonic 1-3 on the Sega Genesis.

Erm... They're as younger than nintendo as old as sony and way older than
XBOX you kinda need some reasoning there and sega isn't having a lick of trouble with good games

A new Sega console would probably crash and burn just like their last one did...With three other consoles out that have been out for over a year and a half, Sega would stand no chance. They should just stick with making games.

It will if they try and release a next gen console before the Wii, Xbox360 and PS3 are replaced... Because then the true next gen consoles will kill it...
