Is this game worth the buy?

I need a new ds game seen as how I don't have enough is this game worth the buy or is there something else I should get first?

Huh? How can you even THINK about this?! This game is a must-have for every DS owner... Of course you have heard of how the adventure mode sucked? The multi-player still makes it worth it, and even if you don't have somebody to play against, just set up bots.
And the adventure mode is still pretty entertaining to play.

Well, it is a bit of an older game. However, if you like Metroid, especially the combat part of Metroid, then I would recommend this game. The Adventure Mode...sucked. Completely. Now, you could use the fact that it's a DS game and so you can't possibly expect the same content as, oh, say, Corruption, but there are so many things that could've been improved that it's almost not worth playing. Almost.

The online portion is the highlight. Quite obviously there are numerous hackers...it's annoying to start a match and half a second later have it end...I come prepared for crap like that though. :) But the shoot-outs are fun, and while there is only one mode for online play, you can play BOT matches with any number of possibilities, where you can change tons of in-game options if you don't have wi-fi available. Also, if you are the host online, you can use Poksicle's Modes Codes to change the online mode, which is pretty fun imo. Anywho...I'd say that for anyone looking for a good FPS-shooter/Metroid game on the go, this would be your prime (and really, only) choice. But, I must emphasis on the shooter part here; there is much less exploring than in previous titles, so if that was or would be something that you'd like to see, then I recommend performing a bit more research on the game first to see if you'd enjoy it.

This is amazing. So what if it does not improve....it is still amazing...for the DS! second from best graphics DS game.(Call of Duty 4, I think being a tad better.) It is worth more than the money. GET IT!

Not worth it. The single player mode is butchered and you're only going to get full online enjoyment playing friends. Hunters has more hackers than any other DS game I played and the rest are just vets.

Compared to the other metroid games, this is the least metroidy game I ever played.

Meh, I was never a huge fan of Metroid games, I have MP3, and MPH, and I think MPH is better than MP3 in my opinion... I thought MP3 wasn't anything special, and it did have a few improvements and such, but it was too much bleh compared to the others. I liked a few of the 2D sidescrollers though, such as Zero Mission. To Dragon Knight's comment about only getting fun out of playing against friends: I still get awesome entertainment in matches against bots, usually level 2 or 3s. Many of my friends snipe too much.

I was wondering the same thing. I have played this game before so i would recommend Phantom hourglass before this. But this is a very good game and would be worth the buy.
