View Full Version : Annoying the same questions are asked?

Do you ever find it annoying how so many people ask the same questions about this game, such as how to unlock characters, hit the ? switch and thinking the courtyard red coin stars are missing?

I do, and even though I always help people (well, this site is going to be far more polite than others), I do wonder why the same questions are always asked.

How do you make the ? blocks solid?
I've got 149 stars and I can't get the last one because of the courtyard boo glitch.
How do I unlock Luigi?
How do I unlock Waluigi?
etc... yeah... I can understand someone not knowing how to make the ? blocks solid.... but I just don't understand why people ask this question, and there's already 5 billion topics asking that same question all on the first page, not to mention that it's in the FAQs. I always think, either check the FAQs, or try reading some other topics...

What I think is more ironic is how even with all the people saying the truth... that Waluigi does not exist, people still want that character! I mean, is he exactly a good character in the series? No.

TheUltimateKoopa

Exactly...
I mean... as I say... I can except this...
"Is Waluigi in the game?" --- "No." --- "OK..." [end of topic].... but we don't just get:
"Waluigi is a good character." .... we get "OMG!!! WALUIGI IZ TEH 1337EST KARAKT3R IN TEH WOHLE GAEM SIRIZZZZ!!!!!! I WONT TEH WALUIGI NAO!!!!"
It is (or was) the same with Luigi in Super Mario 64... it didn't matter how many times people said he wasn't in the game, or the fact that the game even was at the time so old, that at least 1/6.7 billionth of the world population would've found at least a pixel of Luigi some time at least once in that time... people still ask (even now <_<)... whether he's in the game. If he WAS, then people would say so... right? And it wouldn't exactly be like 'OMG I FOUND LUIGI!!!! FOR REAL!!!'...

Or the Triforce in Ocarina of Time. Or who knows how many other secret stuff rumours.

Unlocking Mew/Mewtwo in Super Smash Bros I think is one of them...

The original did not have Mewtwo in the game, the sequel however does (Super Smash Bros Melee). I'm sure you can unlock Mew in a Pokeball though. Oh, and there are about 50-300+ Super Smash Bros character rumours around, see sites like Gamewinners, Supercheats and such sites for evidence of this.

TheUltimateKoopa

I know that.
There are only 12 characters in SSB (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Kirby, Jigglypuff, Ness, Captain Falcon, Fox, Pikachu, Yoshi and DK)... but people actually said you could unlock a 13th character, namely Mewtwo (or was it Mew?)

Maybe the following: 1, Too lazy to find them on their own 2, They brought the game late 3, Answers can be found faster in topic`s, then reading a faqs.

TheUltimateKoopa
12th April 2007, 07:15 PM
Yeah... but if there's like 5 topics all asking how to unlock a character, or how to make the ? blocks solid... then wouldn't you just look in that, instead of making a 6th topic?

Peach and Bowser wasn`t in the N64 smash bros. More then one topic`s of the same question?

How did you make that mistake?

TheUltimateKoopa

I was listing them from memory... and I haven't played it in ages, but I've played SSBM quite a lot recently.

Oh, okay. Of course, I am pretty grateful people like O'Shay don't come here. But still, there is another reason we cannot just point people to the FAQs here... no FAQs...

TheUltimateKoopa

You mean greatful....
<_<
>_>
runs...... then comes back....
*cough* well... yeah.. obviously... there's no FAQs, so asking a question like that would be OK, I suppose... but I just hope we don't end up having about 6 'Where's Luigi' topics...

And even though it is not likely, we do have a back up plan:

http://dsultimate.net/Mario64/walkthrough42.php

Solves the problem, right?

TheUltimateKoopa

If you are still missing 15 stars after using this walkthrough, it is because you have failed to collect the 100 coin stars. To get these, just collect 100 coins in each of the 15 main courses (not the Bowser levels or secret levels) and you will get a star. It will appear where you have collected the last star in the level. Do not collect if over bottomless pit. Tips are:

Shouldn't the bolded bit be 'coin'?

Yes, and I don't believe I never spotted that typo before. Nor did anyone else...

It's a bit of a 'habit'... albeit very annoying, even for me... I seem to notice even the slightest of errors, such as... say... I could read a big long essay, and I'd probably notice something as insignificant as a missing apostrophe, or an apostrophe where it shouldn't be...

It's irony you would be a better spell checker than Spell Checker. Of course, you could replace the Gamefaqs spell checker and make one for this site using this guy as the manual one (Ultimate Koopa).

TheUltimateKoopa
12th April 2007, 10:04 PM
Yeah... I reckon Ultimate Koopa would be suitable for a manual spell checker for this site.... <_< >_> uh.... wait a minute ..... did you just call me 'this guy'???
Heh... I'm only joking... well... shall I just scan every single individual piece of text on the entire website for errors <_<?

Go ahead, since I cannot get a better proof reader, since it is not possible (even with the whole rest of the Mario 64 DS board locked in a room with magnifying glasses, dictionaries and phrase books).

Anyone find it ironic and sad that 95% plus of all message board topics on themed boards that ever existed are questions that have been asked again and again before?

TheUltimateKoopa
17th April 2007, 03:14 PM
OMG.... finally... a new topic (http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=920758&topic=34782147) is made [/sarcasm]

I wonder how they'll respond to the idea of me attacking 'fact' and naive realist, hell, realism based beliefs altogether:

Oh, and I posted the rumours list, called Pikmin annoying and told someone that Waluigi, for the 3 millionth time is not in the game...
