Sorry, but I just have to say how annoying the DS 2 ideas are. Especially those that look more like an iPod meets PSP thing with improved graphics and no new innovations. Why the hell would Nintendo release the DS successor as just a technical improvement after what happened to the Gamecube?

Because the GameBoy/handheld line never had a problem with sales even though each step it took was just a technical improvement. If it's not broke, don't fix it. An improved DS would be preferred imo. I would rather have them make vast technical improvements on what they already have than take another shot in the dark and hope it catches on.

Not saying to lose the existing stuff. But Nintendo basing it off an iPod, having Wii graphics and nothing new added (they don't even show a DS slot and a DS 2 game slot, showing the GBA still).

An iPod, PSP crossover DS is just ugly. Knowing Nintendo, they'll come up with some new crazy innovative handheld that'll catch on no matter what. Something that might be kinda cool is if they implemented the Wiimote motion sensors into it somehow. That'd be a new level of portable gaming in my opinion.

THe Wiimote thing would be hard. THe sensor bar (which helps with postitioning) would need to be placed somewhere. And to be safe, those screens would have to be pretty big to be able to see from a distance where you wouldn't be in danger of whacking your DS.
And of course, for me, the least number of pieces for it. My DS has broken (again!) and this time the top half has fully separated from the bottom half (Ouch!). If you break the screen conecting the top screen, your DS won't turn on. I'm kind of in a predicament because I have some Wifi stuff on it and unless I specifically tell them not to wipe it, I won't be able to keep my Wifi stuff without having to go through a crazy process.

I'm just imagining a remote about as small as the stylus and how funny it would look...

By motion sensing, an example being Mario Kart, I meant you could tilt the DS and say the kart you were driving turned. Or something similiar. I just meant the DS itself acted as a Wiimote of sorts.

That's in games like Warioware Twisted. Although again, there had better be multiple control methods, because while the gimmick of the console works well for Warioware and single player games, many competitive multiplayer games get killed by having forced 'gimmick' controls.

For that they would have to have a gba slot motion sensing accesory. These types of things need to be backwards-comaptible.

True. That alone is going to be the difficulty of having the DS games backwards compatible with new consoles, because of varying control schemes...

I was thinking of things that go on your ear that make ,with the DS2, headtracking! Wouldn't that be awesome for DS? 3-D?

If wifi connection usable, that would be interesting. Not wearing the whole console though, that's an old idea.
