Is when you take it in the sunlight and you can't see your screen

But Other than that it's still an awesome system

The Gameboy consoles were far worse in this respect, trust me.

I have same troubles, but I rarely take it outside, so It does not bother me much. The DS Lite is the "solution".

Don't you mean that the other way around? I could easily see my GB, GBC, and GBA screens outside. The Gameboy Micro doesn't do so hot outside, you can barely see on the regular DS, and you can't see much of anything on the DSL.

DS's are worser than gameboys, because of the HDR effect.
A gameboy= Emits almost no light, so you can easily see it in the sun or other light sources.
DS=Emits quite a bit of light so the sun out brightens it...

Why do you even play the DS outdoors? Were their friends outside?

like i may have said before [i'm not quite sure if i did], pokemon diamond and pearl will look great if you're outside/in a car/ bus, etc... it just seems like the colors really jump off the screen when it's on its top 2 brightness settings:):)

Alright then. I've seen how the colours stand out much better than the original when outside!
