Why Copy IGN/Gamespot?

Why does it seem every single news site or information site about games basically steals all the media IGN or Gamespot get, and use just that? I mean, the media images are extremely boring for one, showing the same old peaceful areas and timid enemies, and have often a massive 'IGN' stamped on them or something!
Does no one realise there's a reason a camera exists, to take pictures of things such as what's happening in a game? Sorry, I prefer less high quality, interesting photos to crystal clear photos basically submitted as a press release. That and if I wanted the news, I'd actually visit IGN, not your site.
Secondly, the hilarious Urban Dictionary definitions of Gamespot and IGN. Some of what's said about Gamespot is hilarious. And insulting to Gamespot; although no one cares.

I don't mean just steal outright, I mean copy the general media. Official art and press release screenshots are not particularly IGN or Gamespot property. But it's unoriginal, hence the post.Posted 3rd November 2009 at 09:26 PM by cheat-master30
