So, wait, you're basically asking of this game has one of the BIGGEST features of this game? Seriously, the inclusion of Yoshi probably takes up a good 95% in terms of how "awesome/well known/ZOMGish" the feature is. It's like saying "Does Super Mario Galaxy 2 have Mario in it?" but not quite as ... odd.
